Smooth good tread great traction
Haven't hit the trails with it yet but did some pavement riding and a little on grass and sand and seems pretty good. I like the fact it has the woven sidewall... that's why I needed new tire... didn't like the fact that the mechanic told me that they do not make the schwalbe tire that I was looking for but I see that the new 2017 bikes your carrying are stock with those tires...
Good tire when ran tubed.
The tire did not set up tubeless easy. I tried without a compressor and failed. Took it into the shop and the mechanic struggled to get the bead to seat. Once I got the tire, I noticed a little sealant coming from the bead. I took it for a spin on the trail and felt that the tire was very slightly burping on bumps. Checked the pressure, and it surely was loosing pressure. I figured I'd give it a few days to let the sealant fill the gaps. Took it back out and the same thing happened. It lost 10psi in just 10 minutes of hard riding. I did ride 40 miles on it at Buffalo creek with no issue, but as soon as I put power down on rough terrain, it would burp pressure. Traction was awesome with the tire, I have nothing bad to say. I rode mostly hard pack and loose over hard terrain. This tire was used as a rear tire. Bottom Line: Decent XC tire if you're running tubes. Don't bother attempting to run tubeless, you'll just get frustrated and disappointed.
