Sizing Notes

Rock Shoes: Scarpa recommends you downsize 1/2 to 2 full sizes from street shoe size, though downsizing depends on shoe model, intended use and personal preference.

Mountaineering: Scarpa recommends you upsize 1/2 size or more depending on desired fit. Scarpa plastic mountaineering boots are based on the UK sizing scale.

Ski Boots: All Scarpa ski bootsare measured in Mondo sizing.Highlighted (or not) sizes share the same shell size; the liners are lasted for each 1/2 size. Some skiers may want to downsize up to 1 full Mondo size, depending upon personal preference.

great rock shoes!
these shoes are great. They are super comfortable (for rock shoes), perform outstanding, and are priced very well for an Italian made shoe.I have been able to wear them all day at the crag without having to take them off, and the semi-rigid mid sole and decent rubber allows for confident edging while maintaining "some" sensitivity. I typically wear a 43 or 43.5 street shoe, and wear these in a 42.5. The unlined sued uppers on my pair, stretched a decent amount, so sizing down 1 to 1.5 sizes might be a good idea (dont go too crazy on the down sizing, these are not meant to be sized like extremely downturned shoes, they lack a preformed "knuckle pocket" to accommodate for excessively curled toes), thankfully the awesome lacing system allows the fit to be dialed in and any slop to be eliminated. these shoes cant do it all, but are a great option for beginners or intermediate climbers looking for a comfortable, flat, all-rounder. the only gripe I can think of is that the double heel loops aren't any more functional than single loops are, so they dont really do anything other than look cool

Your feet will turn blue
Your feet will turn blue every time you sweat in this shoe -- bright blue. It lasts for days on your feet. Beware if you are near light carpet or want to wear sandals without looking stupid. Scarpa says they know but won't do anything about it. Bummer, Scarpa.

Solid pair of climbing shoes

Bought these a couple weeks back and have taken them on a few gym climbing sessions. Really dig the ability to tailor the fit using the laces. They look cool and are comfy. As I am still breaking them in, my toes aren't too bothered, but I do feel it a bit in the back of the foot. Additionally, after a couple hours of wearing them, I feel a slight crease in the bottom of my foot. Other than that, this is the most comfortable pair of climbing shoes I've had while breaking them in. I'm sure once they're broken in, these issues will vanish. I am coming from the La Sportiva Miura Vs, but I don't feel too much of a difference in precision (though I'm sure it is noticeable at higher grades). Go Scarpa Helix!

Quality climbing shoe

I love these shoes. Very comfortable. Great first pair of climbing shoes for this beginner, but I see much better climbers than me also wearing them at the gym.

Good shoes bu not durable

These shoes are grippy and comfortable, but the soles didn't last long. They need to be resolved (which cost about $50) after only 8 months of climbing about twice a month. I reached out to Scarpa and sent pictures, and their answer was that it's normal wear. Without getting them resoled, my guess is that the shoes would last about a year of light climbing before showing holes.

Great beginner shoes!

I bought these as my first pair about a year or two ago after getting tired of always using the gym rental shoes. These are amazing beginners shoes and I would recommend getting a size that feels a little tighter than snug because these shoes will expand over time and repetitious uses. Great gym shoe but I have STARR Ted using them outdoors bouldering and leading and they don’t seem to hold the same grip. Definitely recommend a different outdoor shoe for more advanced climbing. Otherwise this is the ideal beginner shoe for gyms and easier routes. Not too hard on the feet and easy to keep on for extended periods.

Very Comfortable

I'm a beginner climber, so comfort is everything over performance. From my experience, I'm in no position to speak on performance. My left foot is about 1/2 size longer than my right. And these shoes, brand does the best job of splitting the difference. I have tried Tarantulace and Oxygym, they both were either too tight or too loose. Scarpa works best for me--snug painless fit. Maybe if your feet have a 1/2 size difference, give these a try. Every foot is different.

Scarpa shoe

I got these shoes as a beginner climber & I absolutely love them! They're a great climbing shoe so far. I've only used then in an indoor climbing gym but plan to take them outside as soon as I get a crash pad for some bouldering.

Comfy all day shoe

I wanted a shoe that could perform on almost anything, and be comfortable all day without having to continuously take them off to rest my feet. These shoes are perfect. I generally use Muiras for the more difficult climbs, but Muiras are not good all day shoes. The Helix shoes perform as well as the Muiras on everything but overhung routes. They are stiff enough to catch the smallest edges and comfortable enough to wear all day at the gym or a multipitch climb. I highly recommend these shoes for beginners and experienced climbers alike.
