Rock Shoes: Scarpa recommends you downsize 1/2 to 2 full sizes from street shoe size, though downsizing depends on shoe model, intended use and personal preference.
Mountaineering: Scarpa recommends you upsize 1/2 size or more depending on desired fit. Scarpa plastic mountaineering boots are based on the UK sizing scale.
Ski Boots: All Scarpa ski bootsare measured in Mondo sizing.Highlighted (or not) sizes share the same shell size; the liners are lasted for each 1/2 size. Some skiers may want to downsize up to 1 full Mondo size, depending upon personal preference.

Perfect fit for my kid’s feet and he climbs on it 4 times a week. We were helped deciding what shoe he needed for indoor climbing class. It was this and an aggressor version. Since he was new to climbing, this shoe worked. So far, a month in and it’s still holding up.
This was my first pair of climbing shoes (exclusively used for indoor top rope and bouldering) and I used them 2-3 times a week for almost a year. So I've gotten a fair bit of use out of them, and they've certainly endured the less than optimal technique of a new climber. That said, the durability and design of these shoes has been frustratingly sub-par. The straps weirdly started sitting unevenly after a couple months. A few months ago, the velcro started randomly unsticking while I was on the wall, which is obviously super annoying when trying to focus on the route. Most recently, the rubber on the bottom of one of the shoes has gone from typical wear and tear to a complete half-inch diameter hole in the toe area. I may be a novice climber but I feel like I'm pretty average sized and not aggressively smearing or anything like that. I have several friends who started climbing around the same time as me, got different shoes, progressed similarly, and don't have any of these issues with their shoes. I'd look elsewhere.
Picked these up a year ago for my first pair of shoes. I travel + climb frequently in various environments, indoors and outdoors. They've held up really well through it all. Bouldering in San Diego or Bishop to sport routes in Smith Rock to multi hour gym sessions, these shoes carried me through comfortably. Definitely need a resole soon, but for most beginners I would expect a longer lifespan. Gonna send em off and pick up a more aggressive pair, and keep these as my comfy shoes. The leather really does break in well and help because I have wide feet. So if you want a snug fit that lasts don't be afraid of getting a smaller size. Fit sizing based on how they feel once broken in.
Been wearing these for about 2 weeks and I can say they are very comfy and break in quickly. I am a size 9M and purchased 9.5 because I have Morton's toe (Middle toe longer then big toe) and they fit tight with toes touching tip of shoe. I suggest going true to size or half up since they aren’t down turned so you don’t want feet too crushed. Try them on in store if you can that is what I did to get best fit.
My son, and I bought the same shoes because they were a great price. We have been using these shoes for about 4 months now and they are holding up very well. I have slightly wider feet than normal. I went to the store to try the different shoes on. I found a lot of the shoe brands were far to narrow for my feet. These are slightly wider than the others and fit perfect on my feet. I can climb for hours with no problems. The one con is my son and I do have to wear thin workout socks with them. even broken in, the inner heel area is a bit abrasive. Still well worth it. My son and I are still beginners, but I can see wearing these for a long time. I wear a size 8 in running shoes and a 43.5 in these which gets my toes right to the end and snug enough to really have good toe control.
Got these for my son. Got a hole in right toe within 4-5 weeks of use. Perhaps he's smearing too much and needs to work on technique, but I'm still pretty bummed these didn't last longer. On the plus side, he found them comfortable.
After breaking them in the shoe is comfortable. Good on slabs, not too supportive on small chips. Climbed 2-3 times a week for 6 months and the big toe rubber has a hole. This is a good starter pair in that the price is on the lower end and you don't need anything more when you're just getting started.
While the performance of these shoes on slab and slight overhangs is decent, the durability and comfort is severely lacking. The velcro straps are a very poor design and will slip and loosen as you climb. The shoes are uncomfortable over any extended period of time and very hot. I found myself taking them off every chance I got.
I just started indoor climbing in April and wanted to try on climbing shoes that weren't rentals. I did not realize how narrow and tight climbing shoes could be until I began trying on different kinds. I came across the Scarpa Origins and the width is what sold me. My foot is wide and these felt the most comfortable. Size wise, I went up a half size and they fit perfectly. I'm usually a 10.5-11(US) in regular footwear(Depending on the brand). I got these at the size 45EU which I believe are size 11.5(US). When it has came to climbing, I don't have much experience being that these are my first climbing shoes and don't have anything to compare them to other than rentals. But I did feel more grip on my footing, velcro holds in place, my feet don't feel too tired after a few hours of wear, and they are comfortable. I would recommend this for beginners or anyone with a wide foot that doesn't like to feel like their toes are crammed.
I bought these as my first pair of shoes, they were a great cheap intro shoe. I wouldn’t buy them again and would recommend paying the extra 20-30 dollars to get a higher quality pair. If you are in a pinch they will work but please do yourself a favor and buy a nice pair. (4 months of moderate use before hole in right foot)
