Warm hands are happy hands
This keeps my wife's hands warm for hours. I was concerned about how hot this might get but it is not at all uncomfortable especially in the included sack. I swap it from pocket to pocket as I need to. It took a bit of work to light it the first time and I was not sure that I had it running at first but each time after that it lit right up. The included funnel makes filling it up and measuring the amount pretty easy. I'm sure that I will misplace it in no time though so I need to find a way to measure out from a different container. I think that in the long run this will be less expensive way to keep hands warm compared to chemical packs and we can pass it around the family.
Great product
As a paramedic, I use it all the time. It stays warm beyond the 12hrs. I think the one review likely didn't put enough fluid in the warmer for it to cool off after only 3 hours. I've filled it at the start of my 12hr shift and found it to be warm well after I got home, sometimes 14hrs later. Definitely recommend. It does have an odor, so if you're sensitive, you may want the rechargeable option, although I've never used that one. I can not speak for how well it works.
Wonderful reprieve for frozen fingers!
I suffer from Reynaud's syndrome, so my fingers are almost always cold. Still, I love to spend time outdoors in the winter. My husband bought two of these as a stocking stuffer for me this year and they are FABULOUS! Although they are too large to use in my gloves when I am nordic skiing, I keep them in my jacket pockets to warm up my fingers quickly during ski breaks. These would also be useful while attending outdoor sporting events as a spectator. The warmer comes with a small plastic reservoir with a spout that is used to fill the warmer with the lighter fluid. You have the option to fill for a 6 hour use or 12 hour use. The only drawback I found was there is a slight lighter fluid smell associated with use. Not overpowering, but it was noticeable enough to make me wonder if the warmer was leaking (it wasn't). I have also tossed these in my boots to prewarm them.
12 Hours? Going on 18 hours as i write this!!
Bought this yesterday afternoon as I'm playing golf tomorrow morning and it's going to be in the low 40's...I can't handle the cold like I used to so thought I'd try this out to keep my hands warm. Well, I lit this at 4:00 pm thinking that it would lose its warmth by the time I woke up. Now it's 7:30 am the next morning and this thing is still hot!! I would say be careful when handling. I find it almost too hot to handle without the soft cover. Last night I dropped it and the top came off, and when I picked it up, because I didn't realize how hot it is, it almost burned my palm. Can't wait to get to the course now and have it in my pocket so I can hold it in between shots. I'm definitely impressed by this and should have bought one years ago!!
I'm not backpacking without this anymore
So I was backpacking in Colorado, when I fell into a creek, soaking my pack and some of its contents. It definitely soaked my boots and socks. Then it rained. Hard. By then, my camp was set up, but my feet were cold. I climbed into my bag and tossed one of these toward my feet .... all better. If my boots hadn't been dry the next morning, I would have tossed it into a boot. I'm not backpacking without one from now on.
Long-lasting
I love this hand warmer! It's easy to fill and keeps its heat almost all day. I fill it in the morning when I get to work and it stays warm all day. It's great to warm up my hands after shoveling snow. I plan on also using it to help heat my sleeping bag during some winter camping. I love this product so much this is what everyone in my family is getting for Christmas.
hot
Old fashion and still good. The measuring cup that comes with it is the best! enough, not too much. Very important.
Clutch
Have had these for years but lived in Texas for many moons. Every time I go home, I dig em out for hockey games and working with the ol man in the garage. Amazing for winter camping too. Only draw back is they don’t really fit in gloves with fingers so pockets and mits for the win!!!
Warm and reliable
This is the 3rd one i got from rei. All work well and do as advertised. As the kids gotten older now they each hve their own.
Warm Warm Warm
This was a product I was hesitant to buy for fear I may burn alive while sleeping. I already own the 3 hour rechargeable hand warmer but wanted something to keep me warm throughout the night and I caved in and bought it since Zippo is a known brand. This works excellent. Don’t forget to light it for about 10 seconds the first time. You won’t regret this purchase. I’m about to get a second one
