Beautifully crafted bag

This bag is amazing. Completely different than the cheap, plastic-y feeling bags out there (North Face, Mountain Hardware, etc)... this thing reeks of QUALITY. The materials are tough and top notch, the zippers feel bomb-proof, and it's just incredibly well thought out. I bought it for a daypack for day hiking in Yosemite, and it happily swallowed as much as I could throw into it, while sitting so well on my back that I literally forgot it was there a few times. Made in Colorado, which is great and fitting, as it really is the opposite of all the cheap bags out there from China. I'm now a devoted Topo Designs fan for life.

Great for travel!

This bag worked well as a plane carry-on (my "personal item" for under the seat) and then as an everyday bag while traveling. It's large enough to store several things (for me: a camera and extra lenses, kindle, book, pens, a sweater, etc.) but doesn't feel large or bulky when walking into a shop, museum, or crowded space. It feels lightweight, too. The outer pockets are handy for quick access, and the inside has a laptop sleeve plus one zip pocket that big enough for pens and a phone and probably a wallet, too. My only criticism/caution is that it takes an extra few seconds to open and close the main compartment, given that it has a drawstring and then the flap with two buckles that are tough to close with one hand. That said, this also keeps everything inside quite secure from falling out or potential pickpockets!

Wow! The coolest pack!

I feel like i have a special product that no one else I've seen, (at least not yet) has, this bag is unique in every aspect, but what sets it apart from the "cookie cutter" TNF, deuter, Mountain Hardwear etc are the vibrant colors on the bag itself as well as the straps. Its absolutely the coolest bag ive owned, and i've had some great brands over the years, but i think im a devoted follower of TOPO now forever!!

Needs redesign

Just bought this and love the look of it. I expected to use it carry a few things around on urban adventures with my kids. It's great that it has two pockets on the outside (on the top and the back) for little things. However, the side pockets can only hold the very narrowest water bottles--and even those are a tight fit. This is yet another backpack created by people who don't use backpacks. I am going to return mine.
