Overall I like this pack as it meets the exact need I was trying to achieve. I was looking for a pack to carry a MacBook Air around town and to coffee shops and didn't need a lot of additional capacity, so I opted for the 16 over the 26. A minor note: there is a small internal zippered pocket for items like chargers and pens, however this pocket overlaps the top of the laptop/water bladder pocket. If this zippered pocket is overloaded with items, it is very difficult to move out of the way to slide the laptop in and out. Otherwise, the pack itself looks sharp and I like that the bird logo is prominent on the back flap such that I proudly act as a pseudo brand ambassador every time I walk into a coffee shop.
I’ve been alternating between the Mantis 26 and 16 as an EDC bag. I like the 26, but this 16 hits the sweet spot for most of my needs. The dimensions are absolutely perfect for maximizing the 16L. I took this on a three week trip overseas and it was the perfect travel companion. Fit everything I needed with room to spare. Face fabric is super durable and shoulder straps are comfortable. The quick access pocket on top could be slightly bigger, but it was sufficient to carry essentials. Most of all, I just love how this bag feels on the back. Very slim profile and curved frame sheet is very comfortable. Terrific design.
Backpack looks good, however, there are a couple design flaws in regards to the pockets that seem negligent. There is a small inside pocket that flops over and blocks the computer sleeve pocket within the large compartment (this computer sleeve is big enough for a 14" MacBook Pro). Additionally, there is one other pocket accessible from the outside that is tiny, with clear room just in front of it to add a larger pocket built into the front of the bag. In total this bag has just this one small pocket, one large compartment, and one very small pocket within this large compartment. Not ideal for any organization.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Best looking backpack I know of. This is the perfect backpack for my climbing gear. It has room for a harness, shoes and my chalk bag. It's also really easy to boulder with I just wear it backwards with a crash pad on my back. I wouldn't suggest this for school because the zippers are really loud and it gets narrower as it goes down so it doesn't hold binders well. It's perfect for outdoors though.
This backpack can meet all my daily needs.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use this pack for daily commutes and hikes. After 4 months of use every single day, there is not a single flaw. I am super impressed of the quality of this pack.
A very good hiking backpack, there is also a board inside, which makes it easier for you to carry it
I find this backpack extremely comfortable and well thought. In comparison the 26L version of this backpack is not as comfortable as the 16L version. Also this 16L wears a bit low which is fantastic for my larger body type (other smaller packs end up on my upper back). The only "con" is that it's really hard to come by so I hope Arcteryx release more of these great models. Organization is minimal but I find it sufficient for my needs and iPhone 16 Max Pro fits in the upper front pocket nicely. 14" laptop also fits in the "hydration/laptop" sleeve no problem.
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I purchased this backpack for daily commuting, but it surprisingly holds quite a lot. The interior pocket easily fits my MacBook Air 13.6", keeping it separate from other items. Additionally, the backpack is very sturdy; when I tighten the shoulder straps, it doesn’t swing while I’m walking. The material is lightweight and durable—holding the empty bag feels as light as a single-sleeve shirt. I also use it for one-day hiking or trail running. It comfortably carries essentials without adding weight, and the sturdy design makes it perfect for active use.
I think these bag are very good, they can meet all my needs, the quality is also good, and they are waterproof
