Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best. Sunglasses. Period! I have had a few other sets of Maui Jims, after being a lifetime Oakley wearer. I saw the Haleakala at a local boat show here before they were released and available to the public. The weight of them amazed me. When it came time to get new sunglasses to replace my older Peahi model, I knew what I wanted right off. They are the lightest full frame sunglasses I have ever seen. Also they are the most comfortable ones I have ever worn. On top of that, much like another reviewer, I have a large head, and wider face. This makes it hard to find sunglasses that fit well and do not look dorky. These beautiful sunglasses check all the boxes and more! Buy them, you will not regret it!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightest on the market! I recently purchased a pair of MJ Haleakala's after being in the market for some time for a lightweight pair of high end sunglasses. These are very similar to MJ's Peahi model but are slightly wider at the temple and have an adjustable nose piece. I don't even realize I have them on they are so light. Great for us guys who have a large melon!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SUPER LIGHT! I received a pair of these the other day! WOW! Let me just say these fit my narrow face perfectly! They are so light and with the adjustable nose piece, that when I bend over to pick up something, they DO NOT no worries about them falling off your face. I wear these Shades all day and don't even notice them on!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from IN A DIFFERENT LEAGUE!! This is my first pair of MJ's and I couldn't be more impressed! First off they arrived in 2 days (tracking said 4) that is always a plus! The quality is superior to anything I've had. I have a huge noggin (size 8 hat) so I always have a hard time finding comfy shades that fit. These are perfect. I have been a Costa customer for years. After sending back the same pair for the 3rd time for repairs, I decided to try MJ. Nothing against any other companies but you can feel the difference in quality as soon as you put them on. This is a prime example of "you get what you pay for". If you want the best, Maui Jim's are where it's at!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best sunglasses....believe me!!! They are super light and fit my large face. You cannot go wrong with Maui Jim. I recommend you try some on. After you wear MJ you won't want to wear anything else. I also own the banyans, great pair as well. I chose the rootbeer style, it's my second pair and I love them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very light and comfortable. I bought these in the HT lens a little over a year ago. As a fly fisherman I need top notch polarization and contrast even when cloudy, or early morning and evening, and these were to complement a darker pair of glasses I already owned that didn't fit that situation. Positives: Extremely light and comfortable, and do not slip. I like the HT tint for my purposes. MJ has great customer service (broke them when my kid sat on them, fixed cheaply and quickly) Neutral: Scratch resistance is so so. I'm used to glass lenses so this was an expected trade off. Also they are somewhat difficult to clean. Oils seem to smear instead of come off. Negative: Stress patterns in the plastic inhibit polarization. I noted the polarization didn't seem as good as other pairs of (glass) lenses from other makers and MJ itself. Did the old test where you wear a polarized pair of sunnies and hold these at arms length then rotate, and I saw why. The dark areas are "splotchy". Flex the frame a bit and the splotches move. This doesn't happen with my (glass) Smith's or Costas, just solid darkening. Borrowed a friend's pair of MJ Peahis (also glass) and they passed. But Oakleys will do this all day long. It's the combination of plastic lenses and a light flexible frame. It hurts the polarization. Polarized light will enter the lens and the stress in the material changes the polarization angle, thus allowing light that should be blocked to pass. Granted, polarization is still far better than non premium glasses, and I'll continue to use them. And for anything short of sight fishing, this isn't gonna bother many. But as a fisherman, my next pair will probably be glass MJ's.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great glasses! I bought a pair of glasses about 6 months ago to wear when I walk on the beach in Florida. I usually walk in the morning and the sun is to my back. All other glasses that I tried would allow the sun to reflect into my eyes from behind. Not with this pair! On the way back I'm walking into the direct Florida sun with water on both sides. The glare off the water is reduced to nothing and the direct sun not a problem. I have the neutral grey lens that worked fantastic. I'm going to buy another pair next week to wear when the skies are overcast...not often in Florida but it does happen.
