Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing device! I bought this torch in case of emergencies when driving. Sure enough it's come in handy well and more. First I went camping in the desert the day after I got it and noticed the built in panel is a trickle charger and can days or weeks to charge fully in the sun. It charges enough for the lights. I wanted to charge my phone, GoPro, and DSLR batteries when camping as well. I picked up the Nomad 7 panel and it now charges fully in a day. Perfect for what I needed. Emergency wise, so far I've used it to diagnose that my car needed a new fuel injector at night. With the Nomad 7 panel it's always prepared for many hours of use.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It works OK, but . . . My only complaint is the time it takes to charge using solar alone. Using the USB charger, it was fully charged overnight and easily charged my goal zero lantern. However, I have been attempting to charge the unit via solar only and I can never get it above one blue light (after about 20 hours of sunlight exposure and no use). I will continue to leave it in the sun for several days, but if it does not improve, I will contact the company. I will probably leave it at my cabin, in a window to maintain charge while I am not there, so it is ready if/when the power is out, and take it camping during the summer for extra light in my camper.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I bought this for the solar option as I seem to always be out on the road when my phone decides to die so I thought this would be perfect!!! Way wrong. I have left it on my dashboard and on the window sill for three straight days and have ONE blue light of power captured. NOT WORTH IT! I guess you need to harness the sun's energy straight to your device but what makes this worse is I bought three of these. Do research before buying this I only asked questions with the salesperson but forgot for a moment they must work on commission and they pulled one over on me with the 'what it could do' well that would be great if it only did!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Backpacking Asset! I purchased my Torch 250 before my 2 weeks camping/backpacking vacation. It worked great to keep my cell charged and as an all around light. When we had heavy rain I could stay in the dry tent with no hassle of recharging my phone at a campsite receptacle. While on Isle Royale for 5 days it served as my main flashlight and kept my iphone camera charged for plenty of pictures. I usually use a headlamp while backpacking but found on this trip the Torch 250 lighting versatility to be a plus. While it is a bit hefty in weight compared to a headlamp, I certainly did not mind the bit of extra weight. We had substantial rain while on the trip and the moisture did not cause any problems with the performance of the Torch 250. This is a great product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So Very Versatile This product is equally useful at home and in the field. Camping: great as an area light in a tent or to light up your food prep area; excellent as a flashlight for getting around in the dark; red light is helpful when stargazing to not destroy your night vision; solar let's you leave it out during the day and have it ready to go when you need it at night with USB in just in case; I haven't used the crank much but it's nice to know it's there if you need it; USB out is obviously handy. At home: The flood light is awesome for working under the hood; the spotlight has a nice color that let's you see what you can't with other white LED lights; the red is great for getting around the house at night without disturbing anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AWESOME!!!!! the 3 different charging options represent 3 different situational states: (1) normal life, (2) loss of power grid, and (3) cowering in a dark cave ... I'm joking but there's actually some truth to this ... you can instantly switch from USB charging to solar charging to crank charging depending on the current state of civilization ... flood light is bright ... spot light is bright ... emergency lights are a great add-on ... and love that it's also a power-bank for other gadgets ... rock solid high quality construction ... and the design is very striking ... I absolutely 200% recommend this ... proven by the fact that I own 2 of them!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile use! GOTTA HAVE! I gave one to each of my 3 children for their car and I have one in my car and a closet that doesn't get ambient light very well. It hangs with the wire clip and has multiple lights (direct, flood, and red) for multiple applications. It can charge with USB, has a built in charger, and when all else fails, you can crank the handle for immediate recharge. It can be used to charge other devices as well and you can charge the Torch 250 itself on your dashboard while driving. It is the best all-around flashlight that I have and I am ordering another one after this review! It is a "gotta have" item. Great for Christmas gifts as well. Something that they will really use!
