This is an awesome little pocket size flashlight. This is my new daily carrier in my pocket, pack quite the punch very bright battery last a long time, easily rechargeable and extra protecting on the outside of it’s been a good light so far in my experience would recommend it to anyone very affordable price point for its class get them while they’re still available they’re amazing
This little PX9R honestly shocked me with its brightness and it’s small portable size that’s an easy choice for an EDC-highly recommended this little powerhouse
I received my new flashlight over a week ago and initially, I thought it was just another compact flashlight that I'd toss in my work truck. I have over 30 LED flashlights - I kind of have an obsession for tactical gear so I would consider myself a professional user. Firstly, I was impressed with the packaging - it's neat and not the hermetically sealed package that you need a can opener to get into. The build quality is impressive and I like that it's not made of aluminum or another conductive material that when I drop it near high voltage, it's not going to arc my equipment. It appears to made out of fiberglass reinforced PA-6 but I can't find mold markings. On/off button is solid and tactile, the audible click sounds like quality. It has the traditional EDC clip but what the instructions don't tell you is that there are two spots on light that will accept the clip. This is helpful if you are using it on your hardhat like me - reverse the direction of the clip and it can be attached forward or rear facing. What I like best about this is the low power light. This is helpful when you are in tight spaces and too much light will blind whatever you are inspecting. This is also helpful when you are trying to read micro printed electronic capacities - it's just enough light. This is the first time I have used a rechargeable battery with a USB charger - great idea to keep the light case free of charge ports and completely sealed.
I’ve had the Px9r for about a week as of the time of this review. Pros: Very Bright Rechargeable battery, and alkaline battery capable Light weight Pocket clip is ball cap capable I’m writing a review, because when I received the light, there were no other reviews to let me know if this model was worth the purchase price, I think it is. Light is very bright without being too large. Dual lense and led’s make for a very nice light pattern. The center is even and bright, with a lot of splash around the sides. I’ve been using it for about a week, and still have not had to recharge the battery. I use the light at work for a couple of hours per day.
I received my new light and was instantly impressed! The light description sounded like it was not going to come with the rechargeable battery, but it did come with one! I put the battery on the charger and the light showed it was charged pretty quickly. Installed the battery and was very impressed with the operation of the power button and the output levels of this light! I use a HP3R daily on a frequent basis so this light is slightly bigger than I had hoped for but the output and the reversible clip make the size worth the larger light. I highly recommend this light as I’ve been using it frequently over the course of a week and have not had to recharge it since new.
Coast continues to put out quality flashlights and this one is no different. It is almost the little brother to the XP18R, my favorite COAST light. It is rugged and easy to carry. The light comes with a reversible clip, which allows you to wear it many ways. COAST even stepped up their packaging for this light. The one feature it does not have is the sliding focus, but for the price point, you can't have it all. I would highly recommend this dual powered gem. This light rolled around in the bottom of my boat in water while I was duck hunting today and it never missed a beat!!
I received this flashlight as part of the field tester program. This flashlight is awesome! It has a really great run time with rechargeable battery. But if you ever are in a pinch it comes with the piece you can put regular alkaline batteries in and use it that way as well. It is super bright and lit up my entire back yard. If I was to go back and buy another flashlight this would definitely be one I would buy as it is well worth the price. It is small enough to carry in my purse or pocket so the belt clip isn't a necessity for me, but also not so small that it gets lost!
It showed up and I wasn't sure if I could get it out of the package without stabbing myself. But overall I am impressed after a couple of weeks of getting to know it. Even my two year old can figure out how to use it and he likes it as well. It is very rugged feeling, like you could run it over with the car and it would still work. Super bright and adjustable brightness with ease. I like the reversible clip and long battery life. It is a bit big to clip in my Jeans pocket but it stays put. Overall this one is my favorite coast light and it's going to get some miles.
Very bright with multiple levels of brightness. The USB rechargeable feature is great
I recently received this product directly from Coast for test purposes and I am very pleased with the compact size and output of the light. Like the PX9 I have tested, the PX9R is well balanced and feels very comfortable holding in hand for extended periods of time. If you were thinking of purchasing the PX9 and adding a rechargeable battery to your purchase down the line, hold that thought and go straight ahead and purchase the PX9R instead. With the PX9R, you are getting more lumens (1000 versus 750). Expect to get approximately 24 hours of usage on the lowest output setting with this model, compared to 17 hours on the PX9. The included alkaline battery cartridge comes in handy for three AAA batteries should you run out of power with the rechargeable battery and want to extend use.
