Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bomber Bag I'm a wildland firefighter and just can't cary 100 lbs on my back and in my hands any longer. So I was looking for a rugged wheeled duffel that would hold all my stuff AND be able to withstand the arduous conditions. I think I found the perfect piece! I just packed it today and was able to fit my tent, sleeping pad, sleeping bag, toiletries, and clothes for a 14 day assignment. The material looks plenty rugged as do the wheels and the handle. Very beefy. I like the cinch straps both inside and outside so I can snug everything down. And the pockets are great (i'm an organizer). I haven't taken it out on a fire yet so I'll be sure to update my review after that. But I think this is going to be just perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for trips of any kind! I bought the rolling thunder specifically for road trips. My girlfriend and I needed a luggage that would hold both of our gear, and normal non outdoor essentials. I have used it for mountain biking (car camping) trips, snowboarding, and a road trip to Riudoso. It has been carried upstairs with the handles and rolled around on dirt, grass, and puddles of water with no problem. It is reinforced in all of the right places along with not having to much unnecessary material. My girlfriend and I have been able to pack 3 days worth of clothes each along with both of our gear. It arrived within 3 business days!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding value I have one of this bag (the 30"), and just ordered another, as well as ordered the 36". I've used it on multiple trips on airplanes, with ski boots (multiple pairs fit in one bag along with clothes, etc.) and other not so soft and nice gear inside. These things are bomber. No, they aren't waterproof, but they'll fend off reasonable weather as you transport them from airport to car or even if you had to walk in the rain or snow for a bit - it's never been an issue for me. When you compare the price of these to say the Patagonia Black Hole bags or some of the other similar bags, these are a bargain (note, REI's price on these is significantly less than Amazon and some others). Plus wheels simply rule if you are going through airports or dragging it around a city to your destination. I've also found the organizational pockets and such on them to be well done. Initially the large flap and pockets in that seemed somewhat odd, but that's actually worked out quite well. The wheels and handle are completely bomber and far better than many others I've seen. My family is headed to Europe in a month and taking 3 of these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Travel Gear !!! I was assigned by my company in Texas to work in Silicon Valley for 6-8 months, with travel home every month, so I needed gear that could handle 30 days worth of gear for each trip. I am definitely a practical shopper, but found the 30" Rolling Thunder to be the practical bargain. I easily stuffed 7 days of work clothes, 7 days of workout and outdoor gear for walks and hikes, a few pair of shoes, jackets, hats, gloves, and even my CamelBack into this duffle. I added red anodized luggage tags to complete the package, and now I have the most practical as well as best looking luggage on the planet...those traveling through space may have one up on me! ~ Michael

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great piece of luggage! Great bag. I bought the bag to use on longer trips when I need to pack more than a carry on with hold. The bag is well made and durable. I like the fact that it has wheels on it which makes it very easy to carry through airports. Plus, the bag stands upright when needed and the handle is easily accessible and looks like it will last through heavy use. I had a previous duffle bag with wheels and a handle for toting. I had trouble keeping that bag upright when needed and the handle didn't open properly after a short while. The North Face bag is much better quality. Not sure I could have found one better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dream Bag I have always preferred traveling with rolling duffles over suitcases and have gone through many brands over the years. I rarely write reviews - however, I think I have finally ended my obsessive quest to find the perfect travel luggage. These bags are high quality in every way. I bought the 22" and the 30" together and although they are both a bit heavier than I expected them to be, everything about them is so well designed making them easy to pack and travel with. The red handle with the side buttons are smart! The 22" holds about almost a weeks worth of summer clothing if packed with packing cubes. The 30" was more than enough for a two week trip to Asia. I was apprehensive about the Brunette brown design but the bags are really quite attractive in person and stand out in the luggage area. Very impressed with North Face!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding Bag I purchased this bag and used it on a trip to Australia and New Zealand. I was very pleased with its looks, durability and ease of use with a smaller version (Rolling Thunder 22). I was able to pack everything I needed for a 17 day trip and still have room for souvenirs. I received many complements on the bag from others in our group, some of which said they would be going to get one because how well they noticed it handling everything that I had brought with me. It also works surprisingly well with packing cubes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Never buying another bag We travel a lot and broke the wheel on another bag. There was no way of replacing it so we started shopping around for a new bag. We have a lot of TNF products so investigated this one. It's well built and very practical. There is also a lifetime guarantee on the wheels and they will be replaced for free if ever break. We travelled with this bag and had no issues whatsoever. It held a lot of stuff, was easy to haul around. The price is reasonable given this is the last bag we will ever need. Would recommend +++

I am looking for a replacement bag and I travel about 100,000 miles a year and want to know if I am able to use TSA travel locks on this North Face bag. I travel in Asia and enjoy the security the locks provide. Thanks.,

Heading to Asia. Can this bag be stowed in an overhead compartment on multiple trips?

Asked by: MarkLindnerPC
This duffel at 30 inches in length is too large to meet carry-on restrictions.

How are the wheels on this bag? We have had problems with frames collapsing on rolling duffel bags and then you can't roll it anymore.
