I’ve had this bag for a little over a year now and it has been to many ski resorts and several countries. I got this bag when we started traveling with our toddler because I wanted a bag big enough to fit all of my ski gear and all of my kiddos clothes/diapers/toys while still being easy to maneuver around city streets. I had high hopes for the bags durability and it has yet to let me down. If you are looking for durability and massive storage capacity for frequent travel this might be your best bet.
We loved using this spacious suitcase on our last family vacation around Dominican Republic. The material makes it so easy to clean and the suitcase is incredibly well made. Also love the color!!!
I got this bag so I could just take one checked bag for my family’s gear when we go on ski trips. I love the fact that it has wheels because, even though I love to look tough carrying 30 bags hanging off my neck and shoulders I’m just getting too old for that. The bag has a ton of space, in fact it is enough space to fit my whole families ski clothes plus our winter boots, freeing up space in our personal bags for our daily use items. It is nice and sturdy on its wheels which is an important feature for me. I can’t stand rolling luggage that tips over with the slightest bump on the pavement. A couple things I love about this bag is that even though it’s large it’s on the lighter side. I also love that you can cinch it down to keep things nice and tight.
I've gotta say, the Thule Chasm Wheeled Duffel is the BEST. This thing's tough as nails – holds a TON and is so incredibly durable. Plus, the colours are total eye-catchers; I'm always getting compliments. The wheels are a dream, too – makes airport sprints a breeze. Seriously, if you travel a lot, this bag's a game-changer.
I know its a little expensive but its well worth it. Took this bag over to Europe for two weeks. Packed it full and weight right around 50 IBS. Perfect for checked baggage at the airlines. Beat the heck out of the wheels and they held up to stairs and rocks. Very smooth to roll around. Looks great also.
I now have four Chasm Duffels, two 40L and both sizes of the rolling duffel. These are my go to bags when traveling. The 40Ls are the perfect size for a long weekend- or more, I overpack. I've checked all of them now and they hold up incredibly well to rough handling.
We just recently used it to go on a small trip to Holland Michigan. It was great to use, it rolled great on the ground never felt like it was gonna tip to the left or right. The top that zippers down is very flimsy and got a bit cumbersome at times.
We have older REI roller luggage and we have enjoyed those. This one is definitely an upgrade and is very roomy. We were going to buy a clamshell version but didn't want to have to deal with laying both sides down.
Bought this for a big family trip, carrying a bunch of kid stuff and bike gear. Wanted something that could easily haul a bunch of stuff and easily roll through airports and in/out of cars. So far, so good!
I travelled Europe with it, it is perfect! I recommend it to everyone. Lots of space and excellent quality!
