Thule  Aion 28" Wheeled Duffel

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thule Aion Wheeled Duffel – First Impressions Review I received the Thule Aion Wheeled Duffel in exchange for my honest review, and while I haven’t had the chance to travel with it yet, I wanted to share my initial thoughts. First off, I really like the look of this bag. The waxed canvas material is thick and durable—unlike any duffel I’ve owned before. It feels rugged enough to withstand the wear and tear of travel, and since it’s made from 100% recycled fabric, I appreciate the eco-friendly aspect. The back panel is solid and hard—likely plastic—but it gives the bag extra structure and protection. The handle is smooth, though it doesn’t glide as effortlessly as traditional luggage. That’s not a major issue, but something to note. The duffel has two all-terrain wheels, which I’ll need to test further, but I do wish it had four for added maneuverability. Then again, this is a duffel, not a standard suitcase. Storage-wise, there are compartments both inside and outside the cover, which is a nice touch. The interior lining is a very light blue—something I wasn’t expecting and found slightly disappointing. The inner lid compartment is made of waterproof plastic, which is great for storing wet or dirty items separately, but I’m not sure how durable it will be over time. It seems like it could be punctured by sharper objects. Some standout design elements I love include the sturdy zipper pulls and side clasps that add extra security in case the zippers were to fail. The overall aesthetic is sleek, with a camo-green body, a black stripe running vertically, and the Thule logo adding a stylish touch. Overall, the Thule Aion Wheeled Duffel is made from a heavyweight, durable material that should hold up well over time. While the exterior feels incredibly tough, the interior fabric is noticeably lighter and might not be as durable. I’m looking forward to testing this bag on a trip to see how well it truly performs.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I haven't had a chance to use this yet but by observation, this bag looks amazing. It has a slot for your shoes so your clothes don't get dirty. Love how it can expand. The wheels make it for easy transportation.

I have two Thule bags from years ago and have loved them, we travel with our whole family and love the robust style. However this version seems different. The surface scratches immediately, after the first trip it had water stains and looks ten years old . Very disappointing from Thule. I will think again before paying so much for this suitcase -

When I ordered this rolling duffel, I had a gut feeling that it was too burly and too thick. I didn't overlaod it, but after I tested the packing, my suspicion turned to be true. It's a well made bag, no doubt about that. It's solid. But it's too thick and too wide. I now regret not having ordered the other styles having 30" height, with a narrower profile, such as the REI bag, or the Gregory 100L. I focussed too much on the height capacity and the Aion's capacity was what I looked for. However, capacity alone is not enough. The geometry of the pack is important. It has a bit less capacity, but it's too burly and ends up being difficult to maneuver with. It could be that the separate compartment for wet clothes is causing this. And frankly, I don't know who packs wet clothes, but I wouldn't do it and this pocket is a pure waste of material which adds to the thickness of the bag. I never bought this brand and so, I will stick with the REI luggage, or the Gregory in that price range. They make more sense that this Aion. It's tough now because I'm forced to use it since I have nothing else to travel with. I couldn't get anything else on time for my trip. I guess, I have a problem with the design of this pack, but it's a well made pack which would probably work for somebody else. There are side straps to cynch the bag on the sides, one at the top and one at the bottom of the bag. Perhaps they could have added a third one in the middle. By the way, I received it super fast, but unfortunately I got disappointed after I filled it and I definitely didn't overfill it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Took this bag for a trip to Austin, fit a lot of items. I really loved the wet bag portion to store my dirty damp festival clothes without getting the rest of my items dirty. Held up well, no rips and it was easy to roll

Bought this as I needed extra space for a longer trip. Perfect size, resistant fabric and stylish look. Thought the 2 wheels vs 4 would bother me but it works well and stays stable.

Was a little concerned with quality of the luggage bag but it stood up a weeks worth of travel through airports and cruise ship handling.

Great bag and fabric. Holds a lot. I would recommend.
