Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I was looing for! I was very happy to find this pack. My husband and I are taking a 2 week trip to Hawaii and wanted a bag I could use as a carry on and double as a day pack when we go hiking and island hopping. Just wanted to correct what another reviewer said about the sternum strap being a problem. When I first tried it on I thought it odd also that it went straight across the boobies as she noted. But the clerk pointed out that where the sternum strap attaches at the bag can be slid up so it hits at high chest, well above the problem area. So don't let that stop you ladies.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very well made, doesn't make me feel like turtle Some awesome things to know up front: - This backpack is very well constructed and intuitively designed. The zippers are double-stitched of course, the inside seams are not exposed (sewn into a strong nylon binding – it's a similar concept to bias tape, if that helps explain). - It won't overwhelm a 5'3" skinny body. It scales to an appropriate thickness because you can cinch compression straps when there's not much inside. - This bag is more lightweight than described in the product information. We weighed it several times at 1.6 pounds empty. - The pomegranate color is more purplish in real life... like a fuchsia (And the minty color is lighter in real life) There are three big compartments, plus a handful of bonus compartments, and two side pockets for water bottle(s). Counting from the top down, the first one (big) is padded on both sides for a laptop. The zipper for this one is coated in plastic on the outside and forms a seal when closed to keep the rain out. The second compartment, which has a heavier-duty zipper than the others, has a pocket that I presume is for a tablet, plus plenty of room for clothes. The third/outer compartment could fit a few novels and an e-reader. There is a bonus pocket across the top that fits small items like plush whales (see photo), or toothbrush and toothpaste and a couple of chargers. There are other bonus hidden compartments as well. This Celeste has straps and loops so that you can MacGyver some more stuff onto it... like a blanket, a yoga mat... A 32-oz Nalgene bottle can fit through the front handle and be clipped to the corner loop there near the logo, if the side pockets already have something else. The shoulder straps have flashlight loops for night hiking and one of the front loops can hold a bike light. There were no reviews on the Internet of this bag at the time, so I took a chance and bought it anyway, and I'm glad I did. Only downside is that the straps are a little stiff. It's a small price to pay because they are stiff but also pretty cushy and foamy, to make the straps comfortable for carry. Also, jury's still out on the front grab strap. It's good to have, but you wouldn't carry it that way. I travel a lot (2-3 weeks at a time) and always using one backpack or two. I'll see how things go, and I'm a little nervous about how the straps will do for hours and hours, but I hope to update this review with that information.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect all around use Great backpack! The size is wonderful - big enough to fit a whole slew of textbooks or enough clothes for a weekend get away. The front pocket has plenty of organizational pockets inside and a clip for keys. Shoulder straps have good padding. The minty green color is lighter than pictured, but is still a nice color. I'm very glad I decided to buy this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Backpack for Neat Freaks I wanted a lot of pockets for organization and boy, did I get that! I love the pouch for a camelback and all its other pockets. I use this for hiking and school and It's been great for both! Best backpack I've ever had!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great storage I bought this to replace my old heavy backpack for my family trip to Disney World. Needing something with great storage and light since this was the first trip without any strollers. It did the job fantastically. Loved all the separate compartments and even got my old camelback reservoir to work :-). Resisted the rain pretty good too!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from One design flaw I tried on this bag during REI Labor Day sales. I would have bought it for the spacious compartments and all the nice organizational details. However, I didn't in the end because the sternum strap cannot be adjusted and it goes straight across the boobies. Who would design a women's bag like that?! I have shoulder pains and was hoping that having the strap would alleviate the weight. If you don't even use the strap, then this bag seems like a good purchase, especially with Osprey's almighty guarantee.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great pack Bought this for my daughter to carry textbooks, laptop and iPad. Fits everything well with additional pockets and pouches left over for more. Great teal color. Happy with the purchase.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love this Pack Except for the Sand Paper Mesh! This pack has the perfect amount of storage compartments for all your needs. So well designed and in a great color offering. My only grip is the new mesh Osprey is using under the backpack straps feels like rough sand paper against your skin. If you are using this pack in a warm climate and wearing a tank top you will for sure have a skin rash from the sand paper mesh!!!! I kept the bag as it suits my needs so well....but I have to wear t-shirts instead of tanks when wearing the pack to avoid the discomfort from the sand paper mesh. If you live in a hot climate you might want to reconsider this packs strap comfort. Its so disappointing because Osprey used to use a smoother mesh that felt comfortable against your skin in all their past backpacks. I have an old commuter pack that is so much more comfortable but with less compartment offerings.
