I would buy if it has front stretch mesh pocket

The Transporter Waterproof 30L has a front stretch mesh pocket but doesn't have dedicated 2 sides pockets for water bottles. This bag has 2 sides pockets for water bottles but doesn't have a front stretch mesh pocket The front stretch mesh pocket is essential for waterproof or water-resistant bags to separate the wet and dry gear. Most of the hiking and waterproof backpacks of cottage brands (ula-equipment, zpacks, hmg, etc.) have both features but they don't have a separate compartment for laptops as this bag Dakine Mission Surf DLX Wet/Dry Pack 40L and ULA Dragonfly have all the features but have no side access to the laptop as this bag

Almost perfect

This pack is a great addition to my bicycle commuting lifestyle. Side water bottle pockets and storage capacity are a terrific feature, and my one gripe is that this pack would benefit from compression straps to cinch itself into a smaller and more compact pack when not fully loaded. When not loaded to capacity, this pack is a bit floppy and unstructured.

Great features; OK water proofing; overall GOOD.

I use this bag for a short daily urban bike commute. The bag is almost perfect, but needs a few minor adjustments. Some Pros: This is much bigger than the stated 25L capacity. I am not sure if Osprey keeps regular tabs on that section of the web page, but I'm pretty confident in saying this is larger than 25L. The capacity is then increased further if you don't fully roll the roll top. Obviously you lose waterproofness, but I've used to haul bigger loads to work (there is a strap hook built in to secure your load too). The partially hidden water bottle pockets keeps everything very secure on my ride. Overall look and feel of the material is great. Hip and sternum strap work great and all zippers/buckles are high quality. The bag feels durable--hoping to prove that over time. A couple improvements could be made: the laptop compartment is not waterproofed like the rest of the bag. This feels like an oversight. I got caught in a huge deluge and unfortunately my laptop got quite wet. Need a daisy chain or some external lash point for additional items. My U-lock doesn't fit in the water bottle pockets as hoped, and the only lash point is at the shoulder strap. The bag appears to scuff easily. I don't mind, but if aesthetics is of concern to you, you may want to take note. It looks like osprey is moving to offer some zippered roll-top bags, which feels like a contradiction, but I think is a great move. On this bag the top of the roll top can be folded inside out to give easier access, but fully unfurled you have to reach your whole arm down into the bag.
