Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for long trips First the cons: it's bulky and heavy. Unless you have a thru hikers pack you're not going to be able to comfortably bring this anywhere. It requires wood for fuel, which isn't always easy to find, and it takes a lot of tending to keep burning hot. Now the pluses: it holds enough water for food and tea for two at once. The spout makes pouring and draining water for pasta easy. It cleans well. The handle never gets hot, and the lid has a great seal around the edges. I love this for long trips. I don't have to carry any liquid fuel or worry about breaking a stove. It's worth the tradeoff for size in the benefits i get when I go with a group.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cool But Big... Goes great with the biolite stove. Its nice that it holds the stove inside but overall its plus also becomes a minus. Its large, but that makes the whole combo unit heavy. Its nice that you can use readily available wood when backpacking, and the stove will add charge to your phone or gps. Personally I like it and would recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice kettle with plenty of water to boiled I purchased at same time I purchase the BioLite stove. I wanted to stored the stove in once piece and have ability have all the right functions. By no means adding both kettle and stove does not make light and size compare to Jetboil I have but every product has Pro/Cons Boiling water is really matter of how strong the fire you can create in the stove with available twigs when you are using. For me when I test it out I had twigs are not big so I had to add more twigs but I evenly boiled. Handles are great. No hot handles and spout is nice to pour without spill. Kettle has designed at bottom of contain the fire and well designed. Top cover is easily remove and also it came with tips to put some cooking oil around the sleeve to put/remove the top easily. It makes difference so you should do that when you wash every time or become bit tight. Otherwise good quality items that go with stove

Rated 5 out of 5 by from works great, lightweight! Just got this about a week ago- I have had the BioLite stove for while & liked it very much so I figured I would try this kettle out. I nests with the BioLite stove perfectly, and of course fits on top of the stove perfectly as well with very effective wind shields built into the bottom of the kettle. One suggestion that I almost missed in the "instructions" as it was on a tiny slip of paper- with a cotton swab lubricate the inside seam of the orange rubber ring that connects the pouring spout to the kettle- it make putting on & taking off much easier, especially during cooking. We used it last weekend on a short hike, to boil water for tea/coffee and then with the spout removed as a cooking pot for soup. Worked well but be aware you need a long utensils to reach into the deep pot (chopsticks worked great!)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must have for your BioLite stove This product is a must have if you own the BioLite stove. It makes the process of cooking and boiling simple. The pot was specifically designed to be used with this stove and is expertly designed. It will boil 6 quarts of water in 5 minutes or less. Great container for the BioLite stove as well. Makes the whole kit one nice little package.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great, durability may be an issue. I bought this for an overnight snowshoe trip in RMNP and tested it a few times in some overnight trips closer to home. When used with the BioLite campstove, this thing works amazing. I tried it with sticks and twigs, I tried it with the BioLite pellets and all work really well. I think when I timed it I was able to boil a liter a water in less than five minutes, just a little more than a JetBoil we had going side by side. The only downside that I can find thus far is the stainless steel that is starting to lose its temper. Maybe this is because I've had it going like a rocket stove at times trying to boil water faster (it was winter of course) but it seems like every time I use it the temper fades a little farther up the pot. Probably won't matter in the long run but I figured you should know.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mmmm hot liquid via twigs I bought this item to heat up liquids on camping journeys and I love how my biolite fits perfectly inside it. It sits atop the biolite snugly and heats water to a boil in a few minutes once you get a good rhythm for how many twigs should be packed in the combustion chamber and when to refill.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great accessory for the BioLite Stove Got a chance to use the kettle this week on a short camping trip to my local state park. It was the first time I used the BioLite Stove and the kettle. The kettle heats water very quickly. I used wood pellets and was concerned that when the flames escaped out from under the kettle that the silicone handle covers would melt due to the proximity of the flames. I also feel that it would be difficult to control the heat if you attempted to actually cook food in the kettle itself. However, construction is very solid, the price is acceptable and if you are mainly heating water for drinks or to hydrate package camp meals I think you will be very happy with the BioLite Kettle. I also liked the way the kettle and stove pack together to reduce pack size. I only car camp so far so size and weight are not a big deal.

Can this kettle/pot be used on any other stove like an MSR Whisperlite? It seems like the bottom is oddly shaped so it can only be used with the two BioLite wood stoves. Thank you.

Asked by: a8z5
I just used it with a MSR Pocket Rocket 2, and it worked great!

Does anyone know if the nesting mug/bowl from GSI (such as in the Glacier Dualist) will fit in this instead of the serving bowl?

Asked by: Kyle
The GSI Outdoors Glacier Stainless Cup has a diameter of 4.20 inches, and the kettle pot has an interior diameter of 4.8 inches so these two pieces can nest.
