When I switched from a butane single-burner to an induction cooktop, I need to replace some of my ancient aluminum campware, and this pot was one of the few that seemed to fit the bill. However, a previous reviewer here wrote that it failed the magnet test, and mine also failed that test. But the previous reviewer clearly never actually tested the pot on an induction range. There's a steel plate sandwiched between the aluminum interior and exterior, and that plate does the trick, even if it doesn't attract a magnet. I've tested it both on our home induction range, and my portable camping cooktop now. And it has worked flawlessly. Plus, it folds into a tiny package for easy storage/transportation, the pour spout is handy, and the handle attaches easily during storage and use. Highly recommended!
Bought specifically for stated dual cooking options - "Induction and gas cooktop compatible." Trust the Sea to Summit brand, so bought and immediately took this little pot on a recent road trip. One star given for great collapsible and pour design. Folding handle a bit finicky but not a deal-breaker. Big issue is this pot is not induction compatible. We found it did not respond to our portable induction burner. Got out a magnet - magnet didn't stick to the bottom of the pot (wish we had checked this before taking the pot on our trip!). Definitely not enough (or any?) magnetic material in the pot base. Knowing we'd return it, didn't bother using it on the propane cooktop. Got home and tested it on our home induction range - no response. Conclusion - fine collapsible pour pot but doesn't work on induction as stated by manufacturer. Returning.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a very durable yet collapsing piece of steel, it works very well outside and indoors , we have used it many times camping and it gets the job done . Very impressive and easy to clean
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this pot. I made this meal in it and it came out great! It’s a nice quality cooking utensil and easily made clean up and organization less stressful.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product complimentary from influenster. It is great for camping. It's very durable. The material is great. It will not break..
Works fine on an induction stove, and the handle is sturdy and secure but still easy to separate and reattach. This will nest the matching Detour cup and the "medium" (22oz) Detour bowl inside perfectly for a very serviceable mess kit, and the "large" (31 oz) Detour bowl will stack snugly against the outside of the top or bottom of the kit with almost no wasted space.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Everyone knows how cumbersome two things are to pack in a backpack--the bear canister and the cooking pot. This pot takes one of those items off the list. It's lightweight and portable. Mine has held up well so far. I like the spout for heating and pouring water. Easily holds enough for two people's meals.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've only been able to use it a couple times so far, but it's great. It easy to use, pours great, as we decided not to get a kettle, but just get this pot instead, as space is an issue. It heated up fast on our induction element and it packs down so small!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Someone asked me for the link to this pot the first night we used it. We cooked quinoa and refried beans on our camping trip and both were great in this pot! I love the size and ability to pack it into a camping tote. 10 out of 10 so far.
