Rated 4 out of 5 by from I wish they would have fit me Great quality goretex rain pant. But i have large thighs and glutes and when i squatted or sat in these pants they were too tight for my body type. Standing up they felt fine but when simulating hiking in uneven terrain I would have blown out the crotch for sure. There was no stretch in the material like the essence pant. These are more durable as the nylon material was tougher. I wish these would have fit me because they were exactly what I was looking for. For reference im 5-10 225lbs with a middle linebacker build.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great pants, but... these are great pants, but why are they not full zip. cannot get them on over hiking boots without taking boots off.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Short-term use biking and skiing in rain. Have yet to wear in the rain. Like the pockets and fly. Runs slightly smaller than I expected for a medium. I'm between small and medium but wear the pant over other clothes when biking and skiing.

I hike in Western Australia's winters temp range 9 C to 18 C or 48 F to 64 F and often heavy rain. Will these pants breath sufficiently walking in hilly country with a pack on

Asked by: AmbleandMeander
Yes, these will breathe well for your hikes in western Australia. These minimalist pants are made with the Gore-Tex Paclite which is light weight, waterproof, and breathable.

I was recently hiking and got really wet wearing Opedix and a nylon rain pant. The pant had full zippers for each leg. My local Trail and Ski guy said that the Marmot nylon rain pant would be great and at half the price of this Marmot, why is he wrong?

Asked by: redfshbluefsh
The big difference between the Marmot Precip pants the Marmot Minimalist pants is the waterproof breathable membrane. The Minimalist pants have Gore-Tex Paclite which is a lighter and more breathable waterproof membrane. Both pants are fully waterproof and seam taped and will keep you dry.
