Rated 5 out of 5 by from Soo good! Ah the MOCC.... Where do I start? These shoes are pretty much required gear for me at this point...so versatile. If I go anywhere to climb on any type of rock or gym and can only take one pair these get the call. Unlined leather uppers stretch to fit like a glove. I wear 12 street shoes and find an 11 stretches out great while still allowing a snug fit, with toes flat for sliding into cracks. Speaking of cracks there really is no better shoe. No laces to get cut, and low profile. So comfy I can climb long technical routes, soft enough for steeps, sticky for slab, and great toe box for edging. GET THESE SHOES! You will be psyched.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Should have bought these years ago I've worn these bouldering indoors a few times since buying them and, to be honest, my feet hurt! But, knowing others who have bought these shoes up to a decade ago, they assured me that the real leather uppers will stretch nicely and I'll be grateful for buying the size I did. I made sure to get the size that fit my foot length best without any heel slippage so that when they do stretch I won't loose any control. The best thing about these shoes is the grip of the rubber sole. It's unbelievable! I'm now climbing routes that I couldn't before simply because I know I can trust my feet. For me, that's huge.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best of both worlds! This shoe delivers superb jamming capability, and if you can stand to downsize, also edges wonderfully. It also isn't too expensive (many performance shoes these days seem to be getting close to the $200 area). I wear a 9 1/2 street shoe and got these in an 8 because you can expect the unlined leather to stretch up to one full size. Starting out will be painful! But after a couple climbs, they begin to stretch nicely. However, after purchasing these I tried them out in a local climbing area on a hot day. By the end of the day I noticed small signs of delamination of the rubber on one shoe. Nothing a little shoe glue can't fix, but caused me to give them 4/5 stars because a shoe shouldn't wear that quickly after only one day in the sun.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Old school classic for a reason. I sport climb in this shoe mostly, the rubber is very high friction. Great in vertical to slightly overhanging climbing. When you get into roof climbing you kinda wish you had a little more downturn to keep your toe anchored. The rubber is quite possibly the stickiest rubber I have witnessed. On my #3 pair of these. I wear a size 10 and I buy these in a 8.5. Only thing better as far as slippers is the Cobra, which I think is the best shoe period. There is no fancy technology built into these, sometimes the best school is old school.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Everyone needs a shoe like this is their arsenal If you're anywhere in between a beginner and advanced climber this is a great shoe as long as it fits! For 90% of the climbs you find out there this shoe does great/superb while still comfy as all get out. Meaning as long as the route doesn't require a micro-edge or a toe/heel hook (which is most the stuff out there) this shoe does pretty well. I use this shoe the most out of my shoes for gym climbing, crack climbing, slabs (smears like a beast) and easy/vertical bouldering problems. For micro edges and overhung/hooking I would go with other shoes. The only reason they don't get 5 stars is for that reason (they can't quite do everything). SIZING: I'm a 12-12.5 street shoe, a wear Anasazi VCS 11.5 for performance sport and I wear 10.5 in moccasym. They easily stretch a full size so size accordingly. I recommend sizing so getting your foot in was very difficult (but not ultra pain) then take a shower in them and wear a couple times to they gym and they'll stretch a full size!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Shoe Not too bad. Honestly I think they could be priced lower for how much use you can really get out of them. If you buy them very tight, expect them to stretch out to the point of being very sloppy in a matter of months. This can be fixed with some strategic sewing and application of shoe goo (hour long fix for another few months of use). I highly recommend sizing them a bit looser than a normal shoe to prevent overstretching. Sized too tight, they will overstretch before needing a resole (bummer!). Love these on slab because of the sensitivity. Pretty good in crack. Horrible when edging after the first month or two. So comfortable, I once climbed 23 pitches and rapped for 8 hours in these and only lost half a toenail!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great comfortable gym shoe This shoe is super comfortable after the break-in period. I wear a 9.5 street, but the 9's felt way too tight in the store and there was no 9.5 to try on. So I bought the 9.5's online, but after one quick session at the gym, they had already stretched and I could tell they would be too loose within a few more trips to the gym. I traded them in for the 9's, and about a month later they fit like a glove. I have yet to take them outside, but so far I'm hooked. If you're on the fence . . . get them!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from looks like a pump feels like a sneaker This is a great comfortable shoe I can wear them all day long. I love the ease of slipping on and off without laces. Since it's a slipper and there are no laces to dial in the fit you need to make sure you select a size that will fit the shoe snuggly all around your foot. Remember that they are leather so they will stretch more than the synthetic shoes. If you get them fitted correctly they feel ahmazing, I actually sized down 1.5 U.S. sizes from my street shoe for a more aggresive feel, and these stretched out perfectly. The C4 rubber is awesome...I really like 5.10 for this. The shoe is nice and sensitive, so you can feel every little nubbin. The soles are nice and pliable so they're great for smearing and also for working into cracks. This also means that the soles aren't stiff, this was a bit of a problem since my feet aren't super strong and I enjoy the support of a stiffer shoe...but it's a tradeoff I'm happy to make. All around it's a great shoe it can be an aggresive shoe if you really size down or size it as normal for a super comfy all day performer.

Why doesn't REI offer the full size range? Five Ten makes this shoe as small as a men's size 2 (EUR 33) which essentially makes this a unisex shoe. I know so many women who swear by this shoe, and I want to get in on the action. What gives?

Asked by: Sarah
There are limits to the breadth of sizes and colors we can offer for any particular item. REI does not currently stock this shoe smaller than a size 6.
