Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stylish, Functional, and Comfortable After a long search, I bought this coat for a trip to a northern winter climate and am so incredibly happy with my purchase. It served me well and kept me warm and toasty throughout northern Alaska. It is designed to fit the body's form, so don't be alarmed if it initially seems too tight. I bought a size up at first, but felt that it just didn't fit right and made me look frumpy. Going with the snugger fit was definitely the right move. This coat is also versatile: great for adventure or leisure. I went skiing in it and did not feel too hot (or too cold), but also find I can wear it while running errands without getting overheated. This is a coat I plan to wear for many winters to come!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm and Pretty This coat has done well during the Denver winter. It looks good and it's very warm. Even on the 0 degree days, I felt cozy. I wore this while snowboarding one day, and it kept me dry. I'm 5' 8" and a size 10 and the large worked well for me.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not warm enough I wore this coat in store and it seemed warm enough. When temps got into the 20's I could feel how warm this coat was not. The omni heat layer is only in the chest so the arms are not warm at all. I always have to wear layers under this coat. 550 down is not warm enough for me. The plus side is the hood and the inner cuffs. Too bulky to wear my bag over my shoulder. I will be returning

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cold Scotland Winters My daughter lives in Scotland and is atteding Veterinary School. She is out in the elements all day long and this coat affords her the flexibility and warmth she finds essential in her day to day routine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Coat The jacket is wonderful, great for outdoor chores, sporting events and everyday use. The only slight concern I have is that the built in hand covers are losing threads, perhaps leading to fraying.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm and stylish I bought this jacket two weeks ago for a ski trip. I purchased the black jacket. It kept me warm on the slopes and it transitioned well into day and evening. It was the only jacket I brought with me and I was able to wear it out for shopping and dinner. The pockets are lined with fleece so keeps your hands warm. Has an inner zipped pocket and another inner pocket good for phones or a small water bottle. Overall a great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Jacket I bought this as a gift for my wife. She can't stop raving about how nice it is. Even prompted a drive to Mt Rainier to "test" how warm it was. Longmire was great and she was warm. Happy wife, happy life!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great warmth -- keeps snow out! I bought this item a few weeks ago in the late winter/early spring -- I haven't used it for much other than commuting to work. However the coat zips up all the way very comfortably to provide good coverage of neck and lower chin and the sleeves have sewn in cuffs for you to hook through your thumb to provide a good barrier against snow that tries to make its way between glove and coat. I did foolishly walk across a very long bridge on a day where we had gotten a snow storm. Wind gusts (and it was all gust all the way across the bridge) were in the 30-40mph range and the wind chill was probably in the teens or lower. I didn't feel a thing through the coat. I got blown about as a person all across that bridge and had to take a knee for balance a few times! But I was very warm and the coat did a great job at protecting me from those elements. I haven't quite figured out how to get the hood to stay up though which is why I deducted a star. It keeps getting blown down and when walking across the bridge I had to hold it up. Much lighter gusts still knock it down. I might need to sit and fiddle with it, but for a coat like this, I would expect it to be rather intuitive.

Would this work in Fairbanks, AK? It is good for -50 degree temp?

Asked by: warren23
We do not provide temperature ratings on clothing because warmth depends on so many different variables including activity level, metabolism, perspiration as well as the other clothing layers you are wearing.
