Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super non stick pan! I bought this cook set about a month ago for cooking in my college dorm & taking camping. I needed something I can put in my airline luggage and didn't weigh a ton. Works like advertised - the non-stick really does the trick. Better than my full sized cookware at home. Cheesy eggs, pasta, pancakes - no issues with sticking. The lid strainer works well, the silicon seal around the edge keeps boiling water in its place, no dribbles or scalding from steam. Very easy to clean. I haven't taken the kit camping yet, but definitely plan on taking this with us. I'm sure it's not a light as titanium sets, but this is a good compromise of cost vs. weight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from bulky but efficient I bought this to replace our sad aged, dented mess kit with missing pieces. Wow is it nice to have a new set with so many pieces! I feel so spoiled. It's a wee bit bulky (especially solo) but I nested the cups together and used the extra space to store my cutlery, sponge, soap and drink packets. If I had remembered to remove the extra cups (solo trip) I would have had great space to pack delicate foods. The insulated cups work great and did a decent job of keeping my sub-par coffee piping hot. I was worried the detachable pan handle would cause trouble but it didn't flop around when I poured and released easily. So far I'm delighted with this set!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Customer Service Ever I have had this pot set for probably 5 years now. Like the previous review my pot lid warped over the years. I called customer service to see how much it would cost to get a new one and was amazed to receive a very happy and receptive response assuring me that the new lids are far superior to the previous generation and would be sent to me free of charge. After receiving the new lid I am very impressed with the quality and excited to put it to use. Superior quality, top notch customer service, I will be referring everyone to GSI from now on!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Cookware Set Got this set of cookware last season. Used the pot and pan about a dozen times out in the wild (both on an open fire and camp stoves), three times that amount in my college dorm. Some discoloration due to the fire and burnt food, but no warping. The non-stick has held up great (few scratches due to a metal fork, stupid me), Lid hasn't melted, Cleans very well. All in all, a decent set. The handle can be a bit shaky at times, holds the weight fine, but seems to have some wiggle-room. Pot holds enough to cook for 3-4 people instead of 1-2 I find. Seems like it will last me a while yet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Customer Service. I checked "Comfort Driven" for my gear style, but this product is wonderfully lightweight and compact for the luxury it includes. I use it with my MSR Dragonfly for backpacking, typically stuffed with hot coco, instant coffee and oatmeal packets. What prompted me to write this review is the wonderful experience I just had with customer support. I had the old style lid (meltable) and when I called in to acquire a replacement...a human answered the phone (gasp) there was no talk of money, just where they could send it to. The old lid started to melt at the edge from heat conducted to it by the metal. Even with the scare neither my meal or the rest of the product was ruined. This was purchased many moons ago, if you want to buy one, they should all have the new ( safe ) lid. Extremely pleased with the product and brand :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from really nice cook set i was a little skeptical about buying this pot set because of the price but i will tell you now it is worth every penny. the pot set is very durable and cleans with ease. one of my friends has a jetboil and a jetfoil fry pan and we had a little contest on a pancake and an egg. the jetboil fry pan made scrambled pancakes and eggs the GSI pan i didn't use any oil and i had a perfect fryed egg and a perfect pancake. i was trying to decide on getting the teflon and im glad i did it is awesome on the trail VERY VERY easy to clean wipe out and done. i also use an alcohol stove its more fun and i can boil 4 cups of water in about 5 min. it is a little heavy but i compared to my friends and his jetbiol was only .5lbs lighter with fuel and jetboil fry pan then the GSI set with every thing i keep in it : lighter, soap, sponge, 2 oz oil, my alcohol stove wrapped in a bandana with 3oz of fuel that last about 40 min and the cups that come with it. i love this set up takes longer on the trail but it sure is fun. and that weight is for cooking with me and my wife.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for gourmet backpacking I have made many meals with this set. Cleans very easy and cooks evenly with my backpacking stove. I think this is the perfect combo for someone who wants a quality cook set. My friends have been amazed at meals I have made in the backcountry. GSI is a quality company and stands behind their products if anything goes wrong.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great cookware highly recommended The best thing about this product is how much it packs in to such a small bundle. Not only is it convenient to have all my cooking supplies in one place but it allows everything to take up as minimal space as possible. Which is very valuable if you are packing in to the campsite. With some previous gear, the nonstick has not been quite up to par, the Bugaboo however is probably better than anything I have in the kitchen. I've been using this on all my camping trips and so far have zero negatives to report.

I've had trouble with pouring hot water from pots into mugs, even with strainers. Is there a way for this lid's strainer to prevent leaking down the side of the pot?

Asked by: jabberbob
The strainer on the Pinnacle Backpacker Cookset and most other sets is designed to allow water to drain from the pot. They are not designed for pouring into other vessels. While the lid fits tightly and the strainer works as pictured, we cannot guarantee that a drip or two will not run from under the lid.
