Great little cookset for minimalists or ultralighters. Made of lightweight aluminum which heats more evenly, holds heat longer, no hot spots and won’t bend as easily as the super thin titanium cups. Includes koozy which titanium cups do not come with, also flip the lid and you can cook with it on, just watch that your stove flames don’t creep up the side of the cup. For a couple more ounces in weight, for the benefits it’s worth it. I wouldn’t use the included spork, it will scratch and is hard to clean on the trail (AT). I’ve had many titanium cups (MSR, Snow Peak, Toaks)- but this one performs better and the kit is well thought out.
I’ve used this for several trips, both solo and duo, and it’s great. It has just the perfect volume for coffee, oatmeal, mountain house type foods, etc. Though I could, I never put any food in it, just use it to boil water and for drinking coffee. Within the pot, I can stow fuel canister, a lighter and the rubber grip. Within the bag that comes with it, I stow my pocket rocket, tin windbreak and titanium spoon..with room to spare. Nice, lightweight and compact package. The rubber lid can be tough to remove right after a boil, so I don’t always put it on super tight unless I’m drinking coffee. If you do, you just sort of screw it off and that works. The foam insulator is good for handling when hot….just don’t forget to remove it before you put it on the burner. I wouldn’t use anything else.
I love this so much that sometimes like now, I look for it to make sure it’s still available and consider buying a backup. I’ve had mine for probably 15ish years. Use it for everything from coffee, Mountain House meals to evening cocktails around the fire. It’s perfect in every way.
