Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works Great For Factory Crossbars Used these to transport an 80lb aluminum 2 person canoe about 100mi on the interstate. They attached very easily to my 2008 Subaru Impreza 4dr sedan with factory crossbars. I secured the canoe with 3 straps; 1 on the bow to front bumper, 1 on the stern to rear bumper, and 1 around the center from front crossbar to rear cross bar. The canoe remained stable the entire trip.

I have a Mad River Adventure 14 foot Canoe. I do not have a roof rack so will go directly on top of my Ford 150. Can the Riverside carrier work? I looked at reviews and see that one customer says that his Mad River did not fit.

Asked by: Danille
This carrier will physically fit on the cab of the truck, however, we encourage you to consult your local Ford dealer to confirm that the canoe is not too heavy for your rooftop.

Hi, I have a 2015 Mazda CX5 that does not have crossbars. I would like to transport a 14 ft kayak. Would this system work for me?

Asked by: cat5
The Car Top Universal Canoe Carrier is a great option for you as it does not require crossbars and can be used on a bare roof.

Does vehicle have to have crossbars in order to use these blocks?  Can blocks sit on bare car top?

Asked by: pa-cman
The Universal Canoe Carrier is compatible with both factory crossbars and bare roofs.

Looking to carry a trike on the roof. How long are the foam blocks? Would I have to fill the bottom holes with something?

Asked by: 0farb3nt
The foam blocks are 7 inches in length. The bottom holes are designed to fit over a vehicle's crossbars. Seattle Sports (the manufacturer) does not recommend transporting anything other than a canoe with the Riverside.
