Great as a stand-alone down hoody

As a outdoor boulderer, I tend to not wear much underneath a jacket aside from a standard tee or, occasionally, a long-sleeve tee. As a result, I wanted to find a durable and warm down hoody that could keep me warm against the Winter cold without any additional layers. The Thorium SV has been perfect for my specific use case. I've taken this jacket up to Eastern Sierra Nevada plenty of times during the Winter and it's held through cold and wind each time with only a shirt underneath. The best part of the jacket is the hand-warming pockets which saved my fingers from freezing off my boulder projects.

Most comfortabel jacket ever. I have owned a lot of down jackets But this one is insane. The outer shell is extra strong. It fits perfect. Its warm. Just everthing feels perfect.

This jacket is the perfect blend of an everyday cold-weather coat and a highly technical, capable severe-weather warmth machine. The Gore-Tex is perfectly placed on the jacket's upper and easily handles snow flurries and light rain without getting the down wet or compromised, unlike many other down jackets that fail as soon as there is moisture in the weather. I'd recommend this jacket to anyone who does not like to layer too much, as a simple sweater or fleece under this Thorium SV, is going to keep you very warm well into negative temperatures.

I was skeptical about it's performance due to the lightweight construction but it absolutely performs against supposedly 50 KM winds with the windchill of -15 C. Kept me warm with a light hoodie on the inside. It blocked the wind and performs perfectly as an outer jacket. This is a perfect daily jacket that is warm and cheaper than alternative brands. I really like the use of PFAS Free materials and the Goose down in combination with synthetic materials. This piece is solidly engineered and well priced!

Just got this jacket in the mail today. First impressions are that it has good structure. It doesn’t hug my body, which I like. Seems to be very warm. I’m 5’6 / 165 pounds and I got a size small. It fits very well. Purchased this for everyday use in Upstate, NY. Will be doing a follow up soon!

Nice jacket, but the bottom part looks so-so, the top layer is TRANSPARENT, you can see all the down, which has different colors from white to black. a very strange decision in my opinion. This is not visible in any of the photos.

It’s nice looking and comfortable, but isn’t warm at all. All of my other Arc’teryx jackets are warmer. How is this marked as SV? There is barely any down and it’s very poor quality. Anything below 0 and you’ll freeze.

Great jacket, exactly what I wanted. Very warm in negative degree weather. Sometimes I try and size up with jackets to get an oversized look but medium was definitely for me. I’m 5’11 and 150 lbs.
