Sizing Notes
Measurements are stated in inches unless otherwise indicated. Size chart values represent body measurements, not garment measurements. Some women's pants are available in petite and tall sizes. Typically petite sizes fit women 4'11" to 5'3". Regular sizes fit women 5'4" to 5'8". Tall sizes fit women 5'9" to 5'11".
PETITE: Generally, as compared to regular sizes, petite sizes are 2.5 inches shorter in inseam, 1 inch shorter in body length, 1.25 inches shorter in sleeve length and ¾ inch shorter in total rise.
TALL: tall sizes are 3 inches longer in inseam, 2 inches longer in body length, 2.5 inches longer in sleeve length and 1.25 inches longer in total rise.
Capri or cropped pants have an intentionally shorter inseam—reference the technical specs instead of this chart.
Inseam is measured to the floor.

A lovely garment with a blaring, uncool logo.
TBH, I'm primarily wearing this "around"--that is, in the city. It's a lovely item for wearing in San Francisco, maybe with a fleece thing underneath when it's cold. It fits (me) well, is a lovely color, and just very well designed. I'm happy I bought it. BUT--and I'm writing this review specifically in hopes that REI personnel will take note--the logo is ridiculously large and garish. Patagonia and other high-end brands have subtle logos and they've done just fine. The size is too big for the garment and the white stands out too much. It's an expensive product but the logo makes it look cheap. If it were black, I'd run over the logo with a black Sharpie, but I don't think I'd find the right color Sharpie to hide this. It's fair if REI wants to put a logo on it, but why does it have to be so big and not the color of the jacket or a complementary color? A smaller navy logo on my light blue jacket would be classy--this is not.
Product Problem from Online Order
I ordered this in a size medium. The tag on the jacket indicated it was a medium. When I tried it on it was huge, including very long arms. Thankfully I was able to get into the store and try another medium on (they didn’t have this color in the store), which fit just like a medium should fit. The sales person was stunned to see the difference in the fit between the one I received from online, and the one in the store. We concluded it was mis-tagged. The store took care of returning the “defective” one and ordering me a replacement in the Sargasso color.
THIS IS A KEEPER!
I LOVE this jacket. I had a similar lightweight jacket from another company for YEARS that I lost. Was looking for a replacement for a lighter fall jacket for hiking, walking... This one has made me completely FORGET about my former jacket, which is saying a lot. Its is comfortable, soft, not too warm but warm enough for those cooler fall days.

Perfection! I love my activator pants so much- 3 years counting- that I went for the activator jacket- I like the sale price- this material is superb i winter- especially for NM high desert weather- it blocks bitter winds, blowing dirt, snow etc… dog fur does not stick! Great jacket I cant wait to put it to the test. I am 5’6” 125 but broad shoulders
Perfect summer jacket
Love this jacket. Needed a summer lightweight coat that could be useful as well and this is it. Love the shape/cut of this jacket as well.
Just too stiff for a jacket
Although I love the Activator pants that I have; this fabric is just too stiff for a jacket.
Small?
I normally wear mediums everything but this one felt super tight on my chest when zipped up. Had to exchange for a large, despite it being a little longer on the sleeves.
Would buy again
Very comfortable, light. Great shell for chilly mornings

I was happy to find this jacket for an upcoming trip to varied climates, from 90+ degrees with humidity to snow. I typically wear the rei brand medium but opted for the large for layers. Appreciate the water repellency, hood, and we'll placed pockets, especially the one on the sternum. It's lightweight too, so will pack well.
