Perfect winter alpine sport outer jacket
This is the perfect winter alpine sport jacket.My primary use for it is ice climbing - it serves as the only shell I need (unless it's pouring rain) - and keeps the wind out while still allowing for breathability. The soft shell material allows for full mobility and I haven't had any issues while ice climbing. I'm so happy this jacket exists because ice climbing in a Beta or other hard shell is just so uncomfortable. the Gamma MX is also incredibly durable - I've rubbed it up on rock, ice, my ice tools - without having any tears. My only complaint is I wish it came in more bright colors :) .
Fantastic softshell
Perfect softshell. Nice stretch/mobility without the crinkle of a hardshell. Water resistance is sufficient to keep you dry through prolonged drizzle. Fleece lining is soft and adds to the overall warmth without losing breathability. Storm Hood fits over hats to create a cozy, high utility jacket. Only critique, which is a personal preference, is that the jacket were 2 inches longer in the back to ensure no water gets in between the jacket and pants when you bend over.
Gamma Hoody - holding out for Gamma Jacket.
Well as much as I want to give it 5 stars .. I returned the hoody jacket. My old Gamma LW was perfect but no hoody. I understand they are cutting a no hoody jacket for later this spring so I decide to wait for that version from the Gamma group. Other than that, great looking jacket, nice fit but just too much hoody action for me.
Gamma MX Jacket - Women’s
Perfect fit with a base and Alpha Direct mid layer. Hiked 7 hours in a mix of light snow, freezing rain and wind in the mid to low 20s (F). Stayed comfy the whole day. Not much room for additional layers underneath, but I could layer a jacket over the top if needed.
Favorite Running Jacket for Winter/Spring
This strikes the perfect balance of warmth & breathability for cold-weather runs. The chest pocket is big enough to fit a cellphone + credit cards. LOVE that all of the pockets are also lined. The Soulsonic purple gets so many compliments.
