Awkward

I normally wear a size M or L, and the size chart has me right between those sizes (large hips and medium waist). The product description says that these run small, so I sized up and ordered an XL. These were way too big in the waist. The “infinity” draw cord doesn’t meaningfully fix the issue (you can’t even tie it), and the whole waist area was loose on me. But yet, these shorts still gave me the dreaded “sausage link” effect that squeezed my thighs at the bottom hems. They’re both too big and too small simultaneously. I’ve tried similar shorts by Brooks in the past and those were an abysmal failure for similar reasons. Returned.

Best running shorts

I swear by 8" biker-type shorts for chafe-free running. I wear a 12 or L, and the L in these is snug but fits well. They've held up much better than similar shorts made for yoga. The Brooks logo is peeling off, but it's not a big deal.

Great for running, stays in place

I have no issues moving around in these. They don't fall down or roll up; they are always comfortable. I've got a slightly fraying at seams near a pocket, but other than that, I love them. I think they are true to size.
