Excellent vest

If you want a bit more warmth while moving, this vest is the ticket. The front has a bit of wind protection, but the rest is optimized to breathe. No synthetic insulation in it as far as I can tell - only fleece. Since I got this vest, I've also gotten an Arcterxy Atom SL vest and a BD Coefficient Hybrid vest. For high output (eg, cold trail runs, speed touring), I reach for this or the BD, which both have a similar construction. The BD ends up being lighter while the Mammut ends up being warmer. For lower output days (powder touring, climbing) I tend to end up in the Arcteryx, as it's got a bit more insulation.

Fits good, feels good.

It's /kinda/ warm. It sheds heat well. Let's say it's like 30F, and you've done your warming up and stretching, and it's 15 minutes into a cardio push, this thing is perfect. Everything else is insufferable. Pockets work well/well placed. The pocket store works without special instructions. I'm Skinny/Fit. I wear mediums in T-shirts for shoulder width, but larges to get a little more length (I'm tall af). I ordered a medium vest. Perfect fit for a vest.

My Wife said I look like a Trad Dad

Item is good, very very light weight material. Perfect location for pockets, I will hold a energy bar in there under my climbing jacket so it keeps things from freezing up. I am 6'2", 194lbs and the XL fits me well, not athletic/slim or tight fitting. Maybe Large would be too snug.

Adds comforting core warmth, wicks amazingly, cuts the wind

Great vest for aerobic activities. It adds the warmth to my core that keeps me comfortably warm during chilly temps while doing a great job at wicking the inevitable sweat away keeping me surprisingly dry. Pertex material is not super breathable but it works out because it cuts the wind while the alpha direct wicks the sweat to the outside. I was worried my back would get chilly with the thinner fabric but that hasn't been the case and its breathability has been welcomed, especially when wearing a backpack. The area of the thinner material on the back fits a running vest or summit pack perfectly. I also own an Atom LT vest but it does not keep me as dry. I'm 5'10", 163. 32in waist and with a fit torso and the medium was nicely snug. However, the neck diameter was too thin to comfortably accommodate a base layer with a hood (R1 pullover hoody in my case). My neck circumference is 15 inches. I went with the size large which still fits great. I also like the longer hem of the large because it stays tucked in my pants better when I climb so that the hems don't get in the way when clipping the wrong cam back on my harness.

Great hybrid vest

I prefer a hybrid vest whenever carrying a pack. I have used this for winter hiking and snowshoeing so far and will definitely be using it for backcountry skiing.

A little snug

Ide give it a 10 but the sizing is a bit uneven to its hooded jacket counter part. Feels like a L WHILE the jacket feels like an XXL
