Best by far! this vest is great. I've had several other high end vests (arc , Patagonia). Those were both great. This is better. I love that it has internal stash pockets, breast pocket and very little branding. Zippers feel beefy on the main, not so much for the pockets . I can wear this vest in a wider range of climates. It keeps me warmer in the cold and doesn't get as hot while wearing inside. I also have 3 large dogs who love to shed, but this seemingly doesn't pick up much hair. High quality vest with a great fit.

I have two of these vests, one is great the other is not. I purchased one of these vests a year ago. (2020) It's great! I love it. It fits true to size. I loved it so much that I ordered another one (in another color) this year (2021) The newer one has been redesigned, and does not fit true to size. It is too tight. Smartwool's product page states: ""Model Wears Size Medium, 6'2. 5"" Height, 40"" Chest, 35"" Arm Length, 33. 5"" Waist"" I am a bit smaller: 6'1"" height, 40"" chest, 32"" waist. It does not fit, too small. Order a size up. I have always been very happy with Smartwool, My family and I have many Smartwool products. This one fell through the cracks though.

I purchased this product for complementing a long sleeve active base layer for backcountry skiing and snowshoeing. I wore recently on a high intensity snowshoe backpack in really cold temps, but not cold enough for an outer layer during hike in. When temps dipped down to 0F into the night, the vest also provided a nice additional layer of warmth in my sleeping bag. Vests are a perfect addition for this kind of use, and the smartwool smartloft vest didn't disappoint. The merino blended shell, liner, and insulation did a great job with wicking and breathability, while also locking in my core warmth during high intensity snowshoeing. Love this vest and so happy with my purchase.

This is a comfortable/well made vest. However, like previous reviewers this vest runs small. I'm 6 ft 5in and 235lbs. I wear an XL in most tops and jackets. I'm so glad I listened to previous reviewers and ordered a size bigger. According to Smartwool's site an XL should fit me no problem. The XXL fits well, but feels like a slim fit. Not a lot of extra room. I have other Smartwool tops and XL fits me great in those items. I think these particular vests were just cut small. Please order 1 size up. I can't stress this enough. Otherwise this is a lightweight/warm vest. Great for winter running. A versatile layering piece that can easily fit under a jacket. The merino wool wicks away moisture very well.

I really like the fit. I am an overweight size large and I still feel comfortable with the vest zipped up.

Been in the market for a year for several months and couldn't find one that was just right... until now. This vest is stylish, warm and versatile. Can be sporty for hikes or more refined for wearing over a long sleeve shirt for a dinner out. Great, athletic fit. I'm 5ft6in w a muscular build and the small fits great.

This has become my new favorite vest! I love the stretchy side paneling and fitted style. Definitely be aware that if you buy your normal size, you will not be able to have much more than a shirt under this vest (40"" chest and I got a medium). It feels like it is designed for activity and not just walking around town so it conforms to your body. I never felt like it was restrictive. Without any other jackets, it feels at home in the fall and spring weather, 40s-50s F. If I could change anything, I would want a little more material room right in the middle, around the bottom of the rib cage, but other than that I absolutely love this. I've taken it on several runs and bike rides and haven't overheated in it. #SmartwoolLove

Super comfortable, love this vest. I bought this after wearing a traditional fleece vest for years and the difference is remarkable. The shell material feels very premium, and the side panels keep it fitting snug without feeling restrictive.

The last version I had and have used so much is wearing thin so my wife purchased a new one for Christmas. The new version does not have the stretch material on the back making the new fit too tight. The extra stretch allowed it to be worn over thicker layers and still be snug when removing layers. One of the many benefits of the older version was being able to wear a camelback bladder system underneath in extreme cold conditions during long distance fatbike expeditions. This new version just doesn't make the cut and we will be returning.
