Warm and Shiny!

This jacket works great! It's very warm. It's comfortable. It held up quite well for down in damp/ wet conditions (rain / snow)! The double way zip is great. The shiny-ness is great. I got the Men's S since I preferred this color to the ones offered in the Women's version! It fits well but maybe is a little narrow on the hip area compared to the width of the shoulders. I would prefer it to be baggier all the way down. But it is good and looks good ,, just a personal preference thing!

Only found one internal drop pocket not two

First impressions was the jacket was not a puffy as picture. Not as puffy as regular cerium but the down pockets as bigger. I prefer the regular fit. Love the two way zipper. The black sapphire color looks better in person. Only found one internal drop pocket instead of two.

Hate the fit

I really wanted to like this jacket. It is huge, I am normally a size S in arcteryx. I had to get this in an XS. For casual use, I recommend sizing down. But even after sizing down, the fit is not quite right. The hood is huge, and you cant make any adjustments besides on the back of the hood. So when it gets windy, the wind will get into the hood. Also the way the jacket padding on the sides, plus the way the pocket is angled at, it gives the jacket a weird hour glass look. The jacket is extremely warm and light, and feels pretty high quality, but since I am reviewing it for everyday use, I hated the hood and the fit, and had to return it.

AWFUL product - a waste of money

Big disappointment. Returned it for the same reason that another reviewer mentioned: the hood is way too big (ridiculously so) and especially on windy days your head will not be remotely warm even when it's pulled to the tightest setting due to the ill-fitting loose structure. It might be appropriate for a two-headed monster, but that's it - very odd - what were Arcteryx's designers thinking? By the way, I still have the original version in both black and a beautiful, bright gold color which gets me compliments ALL the time, so I'll stick with those for now. This company needs to come to its senses and admit its mistake and redesign - again. :-(

Hi there. Thanks for sharing your feedback on the Cerium SV Hoody. We are sorry to hear that you are disappointed with the hood and that it did not suit your needs. Due to it featuring an insulated, helmet compatible StormHood™, it would definitely feel bigger when using it without a helmet. That being said, we will make sure to pass your comments to our team.

Portable Oven

I've tried nearly every down jacket/parka from Arc'teryx, and this one immediately made it into heavy rotation for winter and shoulder season activities. It's incredibly warm and honestly overkill for many applications, including anything moving. However, for a piece that offers belay-level warmth, it's supremely packable and light, so its hard to find an excuse to leave it behind unless you are going into certain warm temps. I've used it digging pits, belaying, and on early mornings waiting for light. My only warning would be that the lightness comes with some fairly fragile exterior fabric, typical of a high loft, ultralight piece like this, but the tradeoff is well worth it.

Excellent jacket!

Overall a great jacket, although it doesn’t top its predecessor. But the new version has its pluses. 1000 fillpower makes it the warmest down jacket I’ve owned from Arc’teryx. The fit is regular and true to size I would say, but the sleeves could be an inch longer. I didn’t like the shine at first but you get used to it and now I love it. Overall I recommend the jacket, but Arc’teryx could stand to beef it up a bit seeing it’s an SV. I know they’re trying to keep the weight down, but a stronger zipper would be nice and perhaps some lining in the pockets. I’m 6’2 and 220 lbs and the Large was perfect.

Extremely light , puffy and warm

So light , so puffy and great isolation and enough breathing. The size is just right. It took me days to get used to the shiny fabric but I love it.

Really nice jacket but a couple fit problems

This is a super nice, light, and warm belay parka style jacket. Lighter and loftier than the competition. High quality Arcteryx finish. But I found the fit problematic. I am 6'1" 160lbs, so tall and skinny with long limbs. I got a size large as I do in arcteryx tops, and I found the hood and collar too open and drafty. Unless I was wearing another jacket with a hood I lost a lot of heat through my neck, head, and ears. I also found the wrist cuffs quite drafty. I may try a medium but I prefer large tops to get enough coverage.

My new favorite!

My new favorite puffy! Warm doesn’t even begin to describe it—this jacket feels like a cocoon of warmth for your outdoor life. Whether you’re braving frigid temperatures or just need a cozy layer for everyday wear, this jacket has you covered. The style is on point, and the color is absolutely gorgeous—practical yet eye-catching. Plus, the functionality is incredible, with well-thought-out features like spacious pockets and a great fit that doesn’t restrict movement. I’m seriously impressed and couldn’t recommend it more!

Super warm down jacket

This down jacket is super warm. It’s a lot more lofty than the regular cerium hoody but it keeps me a lot warmer. It’s hard to wear a shell over this unless I upsize the shell. It’s doable but it’s pretty tight. This jacket is better used as a stand alone piece or a belay jacket. It’s not as shiny as the picture makes it seem which I like. The jacket provides plenty of room to layer if needed but alone on its own it’s pretty warm. I appreciate the double zip for using this jacket while belaying.
