Merrell  Hydro 2 Slides - Men's

Bought these to be worn in the warmer months primarily on the patio’s exposed cement around a swimming pool. These Hydro Slides are great for that and more. I found them to be soft under foot yet firm when walking that I sometimes forget I’m wearing the Hydro Slide rather than a ‘regular’ shoe. My feet feel secure in them and they are great for yard work and running errands. Pro Tip: wear these when first getting into the pool to help soften those initial steps into the water (on the pool stairs/ladder). Then, when you take them off (they’ll float in the water) place them upside down on the edge of the pool so the summer sun doesn’t make the insoles too hot for you when it’s time to get out.

I bought this pair hoping to replace my daily-wear slippers. My old slippers have worn exceptionally well; even when walking on sharp lava rocks. Even after months of daily walking on asphalt and many miles of lava trails, the originals have never disappointed me. I haven’t worn the new pair. The heel is much wider and thicker than the originals, and my foot slides around inside them. I’ve just been too disappointed and disgusted to return them.

So close but so far. Footbed comfort and heel support are superb. I typically 'walkout' of the heels on most sandals, but the heel cups both locate and support your heel. BUT, they run about 3/4 of a size too big. The instep is too low unless you're foot is very flat, that combined with the lack of vent holes on the upper means wearing them daily in Hawaii I developed prickly heat only on those areas where the upper pressed against my foot. These could easily be a big hit for Merrell, but they need to tweak the upper design. Be prepared to return them. Or, you might love them. But your foot has to fit the shoe, not the other way around, because they won't break-in. High instep? Don't bother.

The Hydro Slide 2 is an extremely comfortable and durable slide that fits true to size with a narrow fit to them. Along with a very slick style to them. I recommend this item.

I've been wearing a pair of Hydroslide 2s daily for the last 6 weeks in Hawaii. I am very impressed by their comfort and support. The deep heel cup prevents your foot from sliding sideways out the side (a big problem I have with most slides and flipflops), and I have no issue driving in them. They also are wearing much better tha I had hoped. They do run large, but order down and you'll be just fine. The also clean up just fine in the sink, or just wear them in the pool. My only change would be a couple more holes across the top for better ventilation.

I was about to give these a full 5 Stars when an odd thing happened. After wearing them daily in Hawaii for about 10 days, I pulled them off to find my instep covered with tiny red blisters - prickly heat. Looking at them, I realized the instep is almost completely solid, so I shouldn't be too surprised in a hot and humid tropical environment. That aside, the Hydro Slide 2 has proven to be supremely comfortable and supportive. I cannot wear flip-flops - for whatever reason I end up with my heel uncomfortably half off the footbed. These have a very definite heel pocket, and I don't hesitate to drive in them. They stay put on my foot. I'll probably try drilling some vent holes across the instep to improve the prickly heat issue. I truly hope Merrell doesn't kill this product, but evolves it. It deserves a chance to become another Merrell classic like the Jungle Moc and Moab hiking boot. Caveat noted, I highly recommended this shoe.

I love them but I'm sorry I didn't get one size bigger, the outlet store didn't have the larger size so I took the smaller size because the sales assistant said they'd stretch a little as they age. The problem is they're a bit tight & I don't wear them much.

I am NOT sandal person, but this slide was really a good experience. It is comfortable, light weight and easy to walk in. The Hydro Slide felt strange to me at first, but after wearing them for a few days they "hugged" onto my foot. Recommend.

My new favorite beach shoes. I love these. They are so comfortable, go on and off so easily but still stay on my feet very well, and of course are super easy to clean after sand and salt water gets everywhere.

I thought this would be similar to the original hydro slide, but it’s much too tight around the strap. Feels like it’s squeezing my foot after walking around for 5 minutes. Unfortunately uncomfortable
