Chaco  Classic Flip Sandals - Men's

I'm a big fan of these, just bought my third pair. My first two pairs have lasted for about 5 years each with frequent wear and many, many miles on them. Eventually the foot bed does get worn smooth and that can create hotspots, and the fabric starts to fray where it meets the foot bed. I do tend to keep wearing them after they reach that point, so maybe you won't get 5+ years out of them like I do, but I'm confident in saying they'll do well for you and hold up longer than almost all other flipflops you could buy. I needed to replace a 10-year-old pair of my beloved Chaco Flips, so I didn't even look at alternatives. I should have, as the current Chaco Flip is a shadow of its former self given a dramatic decline in quality. First, the Vibram sole is no more. The new sole is thin, overly flexible, lacks footbed concavity, and feels cheap. The weight of my well-worn pair is 266g vs. 213g for the new pair, reflecting the loss of roughly 20% of sole material. Second, the arch is far less supportive than in previous models — a key decision factor for me. Third, the previous strap was 37mm wide and made of leather, while the new strap is just 24mm wide and made of cheap nylon webbing. Finally, there is a tag sewn into the strap that defies removal and irritates the foot. As a former loyal Chaco owner with many pairs of their sandals, I do not recommend this degraded product. If you want a quality flip sandal, there are far better options.

I have had these flip flops for two years now and they have been so fantastic that I want to buy another pair. The guy who gave these a bad review doesn’t seem to realize that they sell multiple models of flip flop.

I didn't believe the reviews. But then I bought a pair. The quality of Chaco flips has gone down over the years, but this version is incredibly embarrassing. The sole is soft and terrible (you can bend so that it folds in half). The straps are cheap. The sole has some weird pattern /texture that looks like it will wear out in days. And they cost a pretty penny also. I am going to have to look for a new brand/model of flip flops
