Best flippers
My favorite flip flop! I wear them all the time and have even hiked mountains in them. I find them perfect other than the fact that after 3 months the tips are starting to delaminate/split horizontally. Not sure if I got a bad apple or not but they are still my go to! I normally wear size 10 and these in size 10 fit me perfect.
Best flip flops out there
I have owned 3 pairs of Felipes since the sandals first came out. I love flip flops, and these are the best flip flops that I have ever owned. I can tromp around with these flops and have similar traction to if I was wearing shoes. They grip so well! After about 2 years of regular use and when I over stress the strap in the middle of the sandals is typically when these flip flops fail. I think that is a pretty good lifespan for a product of this price / style. Wear them on the beach, pack them as dry footwear to have at camp on your multi-day paddling trip, or take them for a hike. They are sure to serve you well!
Not for me
This flip flop attaches on the inside rather than the outside which limits the amount of room. My foot sits on the strap which is not comfortable. Construction of the flip flop is very good and quality materials. I only walked around with the shoe on inside my house so perhaps it would have broken in but it did not feel comfortable.
The ultimate flip flop for adventure!
I've had every type of sandal (keens, chacos, eccos, etc), and I feel like these outperform them all when it comes to weight/performance and easy of use. With the simple strap in place you can pretty much do anything in these. I've been hiking, swimming, beach, river, paddle boarding, etc and they are very secure, have amazing grip, and the rubber is very durable and a breeze to clean. The only downside is the strap can be a little tricky to keep straight when putting on (to avoid twists) but once you get a hang of it its pretty quick on/off. I love the open feel of a flip flop so adding the additional secure strap with so little extra bulk is awesome. And, stylish to boot! Well worth the cost, highly recommended.
Filipe needs a re-design.
I like the color and the looks of this product, however the rubber material where your feet make contact is not exactly comfortable. The area where pinky toe makes contact actually can potentially experience some sharp sensation when friction is created with the ridge/surface. It's somewhat odd. The forefoot area also feels somewhat disconnected with the midfoot area when walking. It just feels stiff overall. I love the Loyaks from Astral, to be they are perfection in every way. Unfortunately I think Astral missed the mark on this Filipe.

I don't wear other shoes anymore
I got my Filipes about a month ago now. Since then, I've worn other shoes on 3 occasions: To a formal wedding, while mowing the lawn, and while riding my motorcycle. With the strap, the sandals become a ridiculously supportive open toed shoe you can trust to take you just about anywhere. Without it, they become a classically styled flip flop you can't beat at the beach or by the pool. A bit stiff and tight at first, mine took about a week to loosen up and feel just right. Now they're the first thing I grab when I'm headed out the door.
Great idea, poorly executed
Two major issues from my experience using them over a weekend festival (30,000+ steps): First, installing the strap to make it a sandal (and revert) is more complex than it needs to be. It requires moving a tiny plastic rectangle on and off which is easy to drop/lose and requires very, very, very fine motor skills. Second, and more importantly, is the discomfort. As flip-flops, they're as comfortable as a $5 pair from a drugstore. The toe thong was not supportive at all for my toes...I felt like I kept having to squeeze my two toes together. When converted to a sandal, it was still uncomfortable and, at times, slightly painful. And because all the straps are thin, they don't feel anywhere nearly as comfortable as sandals with thicker ones. I'm returning them.

These are the best sandals I have ever owned. I have used a lot of sandals over the years and these hands down blow everything else out of the water. I have trekked many miles in these, and have even walked up a few Class II rapids, and the G-Rubber keeps my feet planted firmly in place! There is no other sandal out there that can match the solid performance of these bad boys! Best Flip Flop and Sandal Ever!
Best Flip Flop and Sandal ever! I buy a new pair of these every year and sometimes I buy two when I find them in colors other than black or gray. These are the only flip-flops/sandals that I wear as soon as the snow melts, these are on my feet every day. The traction of the sipped sole and the strap that converts these to unstoppable fishing, hiking, beach days, boating, rafting, paddle boarding, these are the go-to for all my summer activities and lifestyle.
I can name other popular sandal makers who wish they made this shoe!
So comfy, grippy, light, substantial. I have lived non-stop in so many adventure sandals over the years, as a raft guide, kayak videographer, camp counselor, instructor, begrudged employee, person who walks... These feel like the culmination of years of research and searching for the right combo of features. Yeah! I don't use them as flip flops, because they feel so good snug on your foot, and better for your legs and posture. They are great.
