Very pleased
I purchased these snow shoes based on other reviewer comments about how easy the buckle system is to use. I have been using a pair of EVO snowshoes and was getting increasingly frustrated with how hard they are to fasten and how often the straps would come undone while snowshoeing. The Tubbs are very easy to fasten and they stay buckled. They performed well for me in both deep and packed snow. I have used them on both flat and hilly terrain. Also found that the shape prevented me from stepping on my own feet.
not enough grip
I bought these a couple years ago and have now used them in 2 full winter seasons hiking about 20 peaks in the Adirondacks of NY. They are great for terrain that is not very steep and/or icy,, but If you are trekking about in mountains that have a lot of slides, ice or are very steep, the crampon on the foot is just not enough. I slid way too much for comfort and learned to not trust these. MSR is superior because they have the teeth all the way around the outside of the shoe and on all over the bottoms, ensuring a grip at every angle you could find yourself in when climbing higher, tougher terrain. These are just not meant for what I purchased them for even though they claim “wilderness” and had great ratings. Just know that not all snow shoes are created equal and based your purchase on the type of terrain you will most often find yourself in.
I love these
I love these snowshoes. I've put hundreds of miles on the snow on them and they are holding up well. The straps are easy to use and stay put once they're on. The crampons have good grip. I've tried other brands of snowshoes but I always go back to Tubbs because the shape of them agrees with my feet and they are good quality.
Snow shoes
Had a bit of a struggle with the length of these, important to have proper sizing. Snow shoeing went well. Should of gone a bit shorter in length. Easy on and off straps like I wanted
Grab n Go!
Absolutely what I was looking for. Easy to use and sturdy bindings, lightweight and well made. Super comfortable. You won't be disappointed!
