I will need to return these without using them. I should have tested my boot in the store. Despite description, size 9 womens Salomon winter hikers cannot get into the binding. Not pack boots, just insulated hikers but they don't fit. Husband had exact same problem with his using Columbia bugaboot. If you get these, plan on a skinny boot to use!
Overall, very good snow shoes. My winter boots are a bit bigger than shoes I usually wear, so I find it is difficult to close the back strap on the snowshoes. The strap just barely fits. I like that you “dial” the front straps tighter and then use a quick release to lengthen; much easier than messing with individual clasps on several different straps. The cleats work pretty well, but I have experienced a little bit of sliding whwn going downhill.
These snowshoes work great! I had a pair for 15 years and it was time for an upgrade. These are so easy to take off and on!! Love the color too!
Perfect gift. The quick set binding is ideal. No more fumbling with clips and clasps and freezing hands on cold winter days. Quality construction at a competitive price.
Perfect shoes for a first-timer. Easy to get in and out of the snow shoe.
I purchased these snowshoes eight weeks after shoulder surgery because I needed something I could put on by myself, one-handed. These snowshoes have been perfect, I love the BOA system. You set the heel adjustment before you go out, so there are no cumbersome straps to mess with in the field. Just slide your foot in, dial the forefoot tight and you’re on your way. I’ve used them on 9 trips so far with no issues, including at -13F, there were no issues with the BOA system freezing or otherwise malfunctioning. As others have mentioned, the toe of my mukluks doesn’t fit perfectly into the toe cage but it doesn’t matter because my foot is still held firmly in place, there is no play. I’ve been using theses on flat or undulating ground and they do well. I have found that on steep hills with loose snow there is minor slippage, but I think that is to be expected since this particular model is designed for flatter terrain.
Great snowshoes. Love the ease of the bindings. Would be nice to have more grip in the back but love these so far
