BEST snowshoe for me!
The bindings were the biggest decision factor for me. After several other types, I landed on the boa and have so happy with how secure my boot fits. The back strap is easy to use (even with cold/wet fingers) and never came loose. Plus, these held up nicely on a fresh pow that was slightly packed, on deep snow where at times I went down to my knee, and went up/down hills nicely! Plus, they're much quieter than the plastic ones I've rented. I wish it was a little pointed in the back, but it wasn't a dealbreaker. Where we snowshoe, we're on groomed and fresh pow and rolling terrain. These were perfect for me!
Great idea, 2 minor flaws
Lightweight. But: 1. They kick up a LOT of snow, more than other ones I’ve used. 2. The heel strap never engages, the plastic button hole pin is too short. So every so often yiu have to stop and tighten them up in back. For me, the plate for the dial in front closer aggravated a bunion. So maybe the pull-strap version would be better. But I love the quick dial. It’s just having to tighten the back strap every so often negates that.
Snowshoe love.
These snowshoes were a present for my wife who had a pair of older Tubbs in the same size. She loves the Boa for ease of entry, fit and comfort, but didn't think the back strap was working until we watched a video on how to tighten it! Easy peasy! We've used them in about a foot of snow on and off a packed trail - and they performed great. Nice traction going up the hills of Vermont, too. The only reason we're not giving them 5-stars is the heel lift device that's a bit hard to pull up, and to release.
