Luxurious sleeping pad for car camping!
Received free product
The Camp Dreamer double self-inflating deluxe bed is as it sounds — definitely luxurious and dreamy for sleeping, and self-inflates pretty easily! Though it’s extremely comfortable to sleep on, it does require a good bit of work and time to pack up afterwards (it took us several tries to roll it up compact enough to fit in the carry bag), which is its main drawback. Inflating it was much less cumbersome, and we quite liked the lightweight silver bag that it comes with to help with the inflating process — very straightforward to connect it to the pad, fill with air, and push the air into the pad. Once it is set up, the pad is awesome and feels just like a luxury mattress at home; it’s also a beautiful navy color and provides a great amount of support. Once packed away, it’s easy to set aside and store. Overall, this pad works well for car camping and/or as a guest airbed at home, especially for multiple nights to make the set up / clean up process worth it!

REI doesn't back their products anymore
Delaminated just after the warranty was out of play. REI basically told me I over inflated it. Meanwhile - I've been camping for 3 decades using inflatable pads and never had one delaminate this quickly. Really love the drop of in quality and customer service at the same time - that's a good look for REI... I've completely lost faith in their branded products. I can't believe they no longer stand behind their own stuff. You can get a near identical clone of this mattress for $99 from amazon. I am looking at them next to eachother, and if these aren't made by the same factory I'd eat My right shoe.

Engineering design flaw

This is such a disappointment. It’s incredibly comfortable air bed in both single and double. And, the design makes it prone to micro-punctures which because of the outer skin material can’t be patched. That’s why they don’t hold air.

Very Comfortable - Camping or Extra House Mattress

Received free product

The REI Co-op Camp Dreamer Double Self-Inflating Deluxe Bed is an awesome mattress. The self inflating feature works great, and the included manual pump (which is similar to a bellows) allows you to force extra air into the mattress to make it firmer. Set up and breakdown was pretty easy, although it takes a few rolls to force enough air out to roll up and fit in the included carrying bag. We found the mattress extremely comfortable, probably as a result of the internal foam cells which really do feel like a traditional mattress (vs. a traditional camping pad). Overall, this is going to make a great addition to our car camping set up!

So far, so good

Been on two quick overnight trips with this and so far, so good. It holds are very well...so far and is extremely comfortable for two people. Both trips have been bellow freezing and the mattress paired with 20 degree bags kept us very warm. I do have a couple small grievances. The pump sack is a great addition, however it pops out a lot of the valve a lot while using so you have to play around with it and use two hands to keep it in while pushing the air down. The other minor issue is that the mattress is difficult to roll back up after use and takes some time to get it right. Overall it has been great for now and I look forward to continued use.

Nearly perfect camping mat until it failed

I concur with a lot of the reviews. When this thing worked, it was SO comfortable. Best sleep I've had in a tent. But after using it for three camping trips, for a total of six nights of sleep, and storing it safely in a closet, it deflates. I've tried a few fixes, but nothing works. I understand bad actors forced REI to get stricter on their return policy and don't blame them. But with so many bad reviews and complaints of product failure, how could they not consider a product recall? If this thing could get fixed, I'd be more than happy to keep using. Please REI, take a look at this product and see if you can do something for your loyal customers.

Love this bed BUT...

we absolutly love this mattress. We camp a ton have been camping for 30+ years. I have bought 2 of these now and unfortunately they just dont last. Im not sure if its the valve (theres been 2 different ones over the years and we have had them both) With in about a year both started deflating a few hours into sleeping. We take very good care of our gear and can not find any holes or leaks. Super bummer as I said this bed is our absolute fave but I cant buy a new one every year.

Would not reccomend

This is our second Camp Dreamer. They changed the valve design from our first one that kept deflating, so we went with the second one. Well, the second one is doing the same thing now and its is so disappointing. I would not recommend purchasing this, especially for the price when the longevity of use just isn't there. This is the first time as an REI Member that I have been disappointed in an REI product.

Comfortable mattress that won't stay inflated.

We bought this for sleeping in the back of our truck. It's never touched the ground. The good, it's incredibly comfortable. The bad, after our first 1.5 week trip it won't hold air for the night. I can't find an obvious leak, but this is clearly a common problem with this REI product as evidenced by the dismal reviews for the same reasons. Unfortunately we slacked on checking on a return and just missed the year window. Pass on this product and spend the extra money for the Exped... Our money was wasted on this one.

Disappointing.

Disappointed. It worked at the beginning well. However it started deflating after several uses. Loved at the beginning since it was very comfortable double bed pad; easy to inflate, more difficult to deflate after use, but doable. Then it started deflating during the use without any mechanical damage. Also, it was used under gentle care so that must be some structural defect.
