Excellent ROI

Really well constructed pants. Waist is true to size. Legs are slim, particularly around the thighs, though not exceptionally tight. Cuffs have hardy snaps that hold well, along with a light-reflective band on the back side. Primary pockets are mesh on the inside and decent sized. Lower thigh pockets also included, with serious Velcro that takes some oomph to open. Back pockets are zippered, which I really appreciate it. Have held up well thus far to average abuse and multiple washings over a few weeks. Have not done any substantial hiking or climbing in them, but I suspect they would fare well. Overall excellent pants. 10/10 would buy again.

Excellent pants!

Very nice material, seems like it will wear and wash well. Dries very quickly when hanging to dry which is a bonus for traveling. Ability to roll cuffs up helps to cool off when taking breaks hiking and works great for bike commuting as well. Fit is true to size. I’m built pretty solid so it’s not easy to find good-fitting pants like these in my size. Most outdoor-oriented clothing seems to mostly be suited to the tall, slender athletic builds instead of us that are a little more “stubby” ;) For that, I have to say thanks Mountain Hard Wear! These look trim enough to even wear for casual workwear which is a real plus! Highly recommend the AP pants.

Not a good climbing pant

As a climbing pant, 1 star. The thighs in these are very slim, no gusseted crotch, and rigid fabric. As a climber, I work my legs a lot, so my thighs and calves are muscular, and they need room to flex and stretch. All this is a bad recipe when it comes to these pants. Oddly enough, even when not climbing, the thighs are so narrow they actually pull down on the waist. So they haven’t been functional around town either. I would recommend trying these on in person to ensure they’ll work for your body type and build. Then you won’t eat shipping two ways,

Stylish and enough to stand up to field work

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I work outdoors doing Conservation work. So my days are filled with working with heavy tools, dirty material, and plants of all sorts. The fit still allows me to bend and flex in many ways. I’ve only felt a small amount of restriction in the crotch/hamstrings. I have found the pants to be tighter in that area and a bit looser in the waist. So I usually have to wear a belt. This pant has plenty of pockets and zipped ones on the behind. The thigh pocket is perfect for a knife and can fit my phone. Durability-wise they’ve shown to wear and tear. I deal with scratching against sharp materials and they are holding up. Only thing I’ve noticed is the long days in the sun have bleached a bit of the blue off the Dark Zinc colour. Definitely recommend though!

Great Pant, Fits a Little Large

Great pant! Love the right thigh pocket for my phone. Would be awesome if thigh pocket was a cm deeper as my phone (pixel 3a) doesn't quite clear the velcro and pocket wont close. Would love the thigh pocket to be a zipper instead of velcro if deeper, but not a deal breaker. Thigh pocket placement is perfect when wearing climbing harness for easy access. For me it fit a little large. Own 4 pair. Would recommend going one size down. My true hip measurements are 39 and I normally buy 38 with no problem. The 36 fit me perfectly.

Nice pants, but no stretch

I got these from the outlet for a good deal. They’re really nice pants that’s for sure. High-quality and nicely made. However, the description says that they are stretchy, but there is absolutely no stretch this material. I also bought the Mountain Hardwear AP active pants. Much much better! Super soft and stretchy, they fit like a glove. These pants kind of feel like they’re made out of cotton and seem to be much more durable than the AP active pants. I bought size 30x30 in the Ridgeline color, which is awesome!

Slim, lightweight

I've bought three pairs of these pants over the years. They are slim-fitting, a bit stretchy, and lightweight. Good for summer. They have some nice details like the pockets and cuff snaps, although honestly I don't use either of those much. They are very slim fitting, so make sure you don't order them too small in the waist. A lot of outdoor clothing companies make pants similar to these--light, slightly stretchy, clean-looking and not too complicated. I think these are one of the better versions.

Great indoor climbing and commuting pant!

I bought these to be my indoor climbing and casual bike commuting pants. So far everything has been bomber with them! You don't notice them while doing activities they're so comfy and stretchy. Though I'm they will last a long time, I am experience some threads pulling out not the seems but it doesnt seem to be effecting the strength or stretchiness of the pants just a little annoying! The fit is good, though I do find them a bit small through the thighs but everywhere else they fit good!

Almost great

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I was looking for a quality 3/4 length men's pant which is difficult to find/however had to return it as length & fitting darts were not to my liking....so ordered full length looking forward to fold up feature -however they were out of 30 inseam & got 32-had to get it helmed to fit & lost that snap fold up feature which only willl work with correct inseam size. Otlherwise pants fit well & quality above average re construction & materials -should last & worth the price.

Tight fit, bad stitching.

I know MH pants and shorts fit a little snug but the pair of pants I received is inconsistent with other MH pants I have. The stitching is coming undone on multiple belt loops and the crotch has the oddest cut. You wouldn't be able to ride a motorcycle with these pants, let alone rock climb. I can barely spread my legs. All around, very poor manufacturing and zero quality control. This will make me think twice about ever buying MH gear online.
