Best balaclava I've ever had.

Best balaclava I've ever had. Ultra thin, light, I love that I can pull the front up over my nose or down below my chin without feeling like it's tight or restricting. I bought the s/m and probably is the size for most faces. It's not the warmest mask but that wasn't what I needed for skiing. If you like a tight form fit this is not the mask for you. Personally I prefer very thin and breathable all I need is a little layer between my skin and the wind even in bitter cold conditions. It's what I've sought for many years and glad I got it.

Versatile Balaclava

I am an avid Arcteryx enthusiast and have spent thousands on various of their products (shoes, underwear, leggings, pants, jackets, shells, etc). I love Arcteryx and was never able to be happy with a Balaclava until this one. It is lightweight and warm and works well a base layer for your face/head/neck. However, the reason I give 5 stars is because of the versatility of this lightweight Balaclava. It not only has a pony port, but can be worn as a neck gaiter and both the top and bottom are easily pulled back when you want to uncover just your face. One thing I will note though, if you are looking for a heavier stand alone Balaclava for very cold/windy conditions, then I recommend purchasing a different Balaclava (such as the Lemae Balaclava).

Very bad.

First of all, it said 1-3 delivery days, took over 1 week. The wool is not very easy to breath trough. If it’s cold and you have this over your mouth and breath the balaclava will get wet around the mouth and irritate you. If you ever lick your lips the wool will definitely get into your mouth and stick to your lips. All in all, looks cool that’s why it gets 2 stars. Would not recommend for the price. Way too overpriced

The only Balaclava I can breathe in!

I have tried to wear so many balaclavas while skiing. This is the first product I have tried that both keeps my face warm, and allows me to breathe through the fabric without fogging up my goggles. The fit shape works perfectly, doesn't put unwanted pressure anywhere, and the elongated neck allows for me to tuck it into my thermal layer and prevent unwanted snow entry. The wool is warm and still breathable!

Bottom face covering too loose

The top part fits my head great, but the bottom face covering part is way too loose and doesn't stay up. I even measured my head to determine that I needed a size L/XL based on the size chart. I will try to do a controlled shrink since it's made of wool, but it should fit straight out of the packaging. Other than the sizing issue, it seems well-made.

Versatile accesory

Versatile piece for city and outdoor pursuits, used mainly as a neck warmer/scarf and as a balaclava when temperatures necessitate it. Practical backcountry daily driver. Warm for its weight. I was within the sizing recommendations for a large but in hindsight would've sized down to a medium for a better fit. Definitely not a deal-breaker.

Soft, Warm, Versatile

Purchased several of these as gifts for family this Christmas, and one for myself :) Love the feel of the soft wool on the face. Easy to take the mouth cover down, or push the head cover back off the forehead. Will be wearing this on winter days when walking the dog on the beach or up in the mountain snow.

Feels cheap and flimsy

As a Police Officer i’ll be outside for hours at a time in the freezing cold. Pretty upset with how thin and cheap this balaclava feels. I usually love Arcteryx and expect their items to feel premium and durable. I don’t see this balaclava lasting longer than a few months. Very disappointed with this item.

Perfect but thin

Reviews aren’t too accurate. Great mask a little thing and definitely don’t get large unless your head is huge. This mask is perfect for most activities but during a 10 degree day on the mountain you might want something a little thicker. I have a lot of arcteryx products and love them!
