Warm and dry
I spend a LOT of time walking my dog, both around the city and in the woods/mud/muck. In this brutal winter, warm and waterproof boots were a must. I've only had these for two or three weeks and I'm already SO glad I own them. They've been great. As someone with high arches, I will say that they do fit a bit tightly across the top of my foot. This took some getting used to, but now it does not bother me at all. DEFINITELY go a size up if you are a half size. The only time my feet have ever been cold in these was when I put them on over socks that were already damp from sweat - clean, dry socks are a must if you want to stay warm in these guys.
durable, warm, keep feet dry, and comfortable.
I bought the green paisley version of these back in December of 2013 and I have worn them during the winter and rainy weather ever since. They, this year, are starting to show natural wear on the heels of the sole, but after wearing them as much as I have that is to be expected so I am not disappointed in that. They keep my feet warm and dry as well as they are comfortable. I bought them a size up from what I normally would buy a boot and that seems to work really well. They may need to be replaced after this season or next when the heel finally gives out. Highly recommend these! I get compliments on these nearly every time I wear these out, too.
I love them but...
I live in Brooklyn,NY that should tell you that the winters are hard, ugly and difficult to navigate for a full day out in a world where the weather is miserable, and the offices are probably over heated. I have UGGS, I hate them. Boggs seemed to be a great alternative and they are warm, comfortable suit my purpose of getting through all parts of the city, in all kind of weather BUT (and I have no idea how to solve this) they are really, really hard to take off when you get home and all you want to do is get into your comfy shoes. I have the high boots and a suggestion is to always plan on wearing knee socks, just for you own comfort.
Wish they were a little wider
These boots are good and I can't find a better option although I wish they were a little different. They have a section in the back with extra padding that holds your heel in to keep them from being sloppy. Not as much arch as I need and my toes are cramped even removing the black sole to make them wider. I wish there was a wide version and wide calf. Apparently I need both! My calf is 15-15.5" and while the regular boots fit the way the boot moved be being suctioned onto my calf made the shoe part fit poorly. I am nervous with the room in the calf, being wider than my leg now stuff- hay, wood shavings, snow will end up down my boot.
AWESOME! But runs large
I live in MD and have a small farmette with sheep, chickens, pigs, and a steer. Maryland winter temperatures fluctuate, but do get below freezing. These work boots are perfect. They are comfortable and keep my feet incredibly warm. I do not need to wear wool socks and if I'm running outside real quick, don't wear any socks at all. The boots are waterproof and although I've only had them a month, they seem incredibly durable. I wear them every day and they make farming in the winter a much more enjoyable experience. The only con is they don't carry 1/2 sizes. A 9 was way too big and my toes slightly touch the edge in an 8- good thing I don't need thick socks.
Wouldn't buy boot again
The boots are so gigantic and clunky. I bought some great hogs 3-4 years ago which are sleeker and doesn't have that big rubber boot part at the bottom, which is just totally out of harmony for a women's boot I feel. Looks like a work boot for firemen or mail men. Very disappointed. But I looked again at the website and the photos are deceiving. They should show the boots on the feet and kegs of real people! But I wore them once in the rain. So heavy too even though I thought I had pressed on the 30% lighter boot? But buying and researching. Shoes on an iPhone is a bit difficult with your website too. Sorry to be so negative.
Fantastic work/casual boot! Great in the elements!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These boots are wonderful for work & casual wear! I love bogs I repeatedly buy them. I've worked at a farm & they were perfect. I moved to cold & snowy Maine & these are waterproof, they work great in the snow & have decent tread. I do recommend ordering a size up they do seem to run a bit small . I'm normally an 8 - 8 1/2 in boots & I do take a 9 in bogs. I've also had the plimsoll style which is the best fitting i've had so far but this model is much better for work & more rugged just feels a little wider then the plimsoll. I must say Bogs boots will always be my go to & the company's great as far as taking care of their customers! Highly recommended to anyone!
Almost can't wait for winter!
I work as a field reporter in New York's Hudson Valley, and am often sent out in foul weather to rural locations -- so I was looking for a warm, waterproof pair of snow boots. These are perfect, and they're cute to boot! Love the built-in handles and stretchy boot shaft. After reading other reviews, I ordered one size up and they seem to fit great -- very comfy around the house, but we'll soon see how they do out in the real world. I'm also wondering if they're as warm as they purport to be, but then again, the bigger size will also allow for heavier wool socks if needed. Winter will be here soon and I am almost looking forward to it so I can try out these puppies!
So comfortable and warm
I bought these boots to wear outside in cold weather when I am hiking, playing with my kids or doing yard work. I have worn them practically everyday since November (and its now Feb) and they are so incredibly comfortable, warm and dependable. My feet rarely get cold, only when I'm standing around in really cold weather. I have also gone on several long hikes and walks with them and my feet have felt fine, as if I had been in hiking boots. I have worn these in Northern California, Minnesota this winter and next Iceland. I wear a size 6 and bought a size 6 and also have very wide feet and these fit me perfectly.
Great boots
I love my Boggs boots, wearing them every morning when cleaning up horse manure from the spring mud. (I wear them for the same task in the winter snow, too) In addition to being comfortable, and having that great hole that makes them easy to pull on, they are warm and water-proof, and can be cleaned by sticking my feet under the outside faucet before going into the house. I also wear them to ride the horses that make the manure. My only complaint is that I didn't read the description closely enough and by mistake ordered a wide calf boot when I have a narrow calf. Shoppers, read those descriptions carefully!
