When I received the package, I was shocked when the shoes were not in a Hoka box. I checked the soles and it looks like it was slightly used or store display shoes.
I work in a doctors office and am on my feet all day long. I have 2 other pairs of Hokas and got them ALL on sale in the outlet or with my REI yearly reward, so never paid full price! I love these shoes and from the first day I wore these it was like I had already worn them in. They are super comfy but also gives good support.
Shoe feels really good around the foot and great sensations o overall. My surprise though was the traction. Very bad in comparison to my adidas solarglide. Another issue I found is the wear inside the heel cup. It is deteriorating at a ver fast pace, and mine have over 300km.
Great show but colors wear quickly on the outer rubber portion. These shows are super comfy and I love the way it hits more surface area than other shoes. I can be in them all day with little to no backpain. I've also never had so many compliments or questions about a shoe! People love them and I can understand why. I did not like however how the bright colors wore off before having them too long. There is also a weird wearing on the heel where friction happens. I have not had that rubbing issues with other brands. I have pretty flat feet with little to no arch and pigeon toed when I walk and LOVE these shoes!
Love the cushion! Don’t like the firm heel lips that flip out! The heel lips catch on the stools at work when I stand up. They also cause my pant legs to hang up on the heels instead of draping nicely. The tongue is a little too short for my liking, I feel like the laces are right at the edge of the tongue. I have 2 pair of these shoes. The white ones fit better than the black ones. The black ones are cut lower or something & really seem to slip in the heels. The white ones fit nicely though. I’ve tried 2 pair of the black & they both fit they same way. Hoping to get a better fitting black pair. Also hoping Hoka will do away with the heel lip in these shoes!
I have used Hoka’s in the past and usually get a size larger for running; however, this time, that was not the case. I wanted the particular color that was only offered in a wide and my regular shoe size. I took a chance and purchased them in hopes that they wouldn’t be too wide or hurt my toes after a few miles. I was pleasantly surprised that the shoes were comfortable and provided great support throughout the training runs and the race.
The support and cushion are excellent. Hard floors are hard on my feet and legs. I took a chance and glad I did. My heels are held securely and the support of the arch is fantastic. Not to mention I love the pink color! I am not a runner, but these are the best for working/walking on hard/concrete floors all day. An RN at a local hospital told me about the Hoka brand. Highly recommend them.
They run true to size, not like the Hoka Cliftons that run half a size large. I wear a 6.5 in Nikes, 6 in Adidas, and 6 in Hoka Cliftons. For the Arahi, I had to get a 6.5. The toe area is slightly narrow but not bothersome. The cushion does feel significantly less bouncy than the Cliftons.
I Have the Bondi 8, and it is great. I wanted to try another HOKA, so I tried this one. Well I wore it on my 4 mile walk and it rubbed a blister on the side of my heel. It was a bit too narrow, so I had to return.
Very supportive shoes. This is my 3rd pair of Hoka shoes. I had the Arahi 4 but they were a bit worn.
