I mainly got these to go with my Salsa and for that, they do pretty good. The yellow is as close as it gets to the Salsa logo. But as far as gripability goes, they don't seem to have the same bite as pedals with metal spikes on them. My feet slip quite a bit while I'm peddling. But throw my e*thirteen pedals back on and it's like I'm glued to the pedals. I'll probably keep these Bontrager pedals as backup pedals, but don't believe the hype when folks tell you plastic grips better than metal. They are wrong.
*Did not purchase at REI, but I want to help someone make a good choice * The pegs on these pedals are plastic and pop off, resulting in terrible grip after only a few rides.
was wondering why these pedals have so much drag to them, so I took them apart to inspect them. There are no bearings in these pedals. Just some cheesy plastic bushings. I am learning that many manufacturers are doing this. People make a lot of junk.
I got a package with two RIGHT pedals. Can’t tell how they are functionally, but you’d think they would come packaged appropriately.
This is a simple cost friendly item worth buying. I feel like i've got good grip with these pedals. It doesnt have any reflective panels but thats okay. Overall a good pedal.
Pretty good all-around pedals for a standard commuter bike. They are bigger than what typically comes with a bike, which provides better foot grip. Also, easy to install.
These are a good, well designed pedal. Put them to the test on a challenging 35 mile ride right away and they performed very well. Great value too.
The size is perfect. They grip great without being metal pins that would cut if slipping off the pedal.
They’re good for the money, but could have some free play in them. They don’t spin easily.
