Lost stickiness very quickly

I took these skins out ~4-5 times before they seemed to lose all stickiness. I know I had pulled off some wax from the bottom of the skis, but even the wipes didn't help it restore its original stickiness. Navigating steep terrain was scary while my skins kept popping off. I know others have had better experiences with these skins, but I have difficulty trusting them again.
