I bought these shoes after returning from Kathmandu and having a terrible experience with the Gore-Tex version of the shoe. I thought that perhaps without the Gore-Tex the shoes would be more breathable and they would no longer smell as much as the Gore-Tex version did. The shoes are very breathable as they become wet while wicking moisture from the shoe on long walks. however the odor retention of the material is highly prevalent and on par with the Gore-Tex version. Very disappointed in this material that Arc’teryx is using for this style of shoe. I wear these shoes daily to and from work walking one hour per day. Unfortunate that one has to spend so much money in order to determine the actual performance.

For the first few hikes under six miles these shoes seemed great, good feel and light. Then three 12 mile days in a row (with liner socks under hiking socks both tech cool max plus prudent talc) produced 3 blisters and the trip needed to be rerouted to get new shoes. I hadn’t had blisters in the previous 25 years of hiking before this. The forefoot area simply seems to allow to much movement of the forefoot. Oy vey! (Side note: my other arcteryx products work great!) the webpage description does say “day hikers” so, mea culpa! Yet, it still seems that it would be good to design in more forefoot form for the next iteration of this shoe.

I was excited to see a Gore Tex free mountain shoe as I easily overheat in summer. The Aerios are very robust despite only using a dense mesh upper around the top and front of the shoe, which suggests good ventilation. The soles are also thick and well cushioned, but to a degree where it almost feels imbalanced – the weight of the shoe is in the sole. The dealbreaker for me was that they are very narrow, so I can't trust that they will be a comfortable and healthy fit when walking 30+ km in hot weather. I only tried these on at home and directly returned them, so I can't speak to how they perform outdoors.
I've owned Arcteryx shoes previously and they were great quality. Sadly these shoes started to fall apart after about 4 weeks of gentle use.

I've been a big fan of the Arc'teryx wears for the last almost 20 years, and I'm in the Arc'teryx from top to bottom. But these shoes have been quite a disappointment. I bought those less than a year ago (and it was in fact "Aerios FL" and not "Aerios FL2", but still ...). I have worn those not more than 15 times and only in downtown Vancouver (no outer roads or trails). But the bottom sole already started to rip off, after less than 10 walks. The laces also seem to be very "slippery" - they are getting untied every few minutes.

I’ve been looking for a shoe that i can wear to work (mix of standing/walking/sitting), hiking (durable/grippy/supportive), and traveling (minimalist look/easy to lean material/lightweight/comfortable) and so far this checks the most boxes for me!
I really think that feet width is a critical attribute for comfort and performance, not sure how Arcteryx is not measuring when customer is designing their size. May be I'm missing something here!
I love these for hiking and walking in dry and temperate weather. My new favorite go-to shoe. I've had mine for three months, so I can't yet rate durability.
I wish Arc'teryx made this shoe a little wider -tried it on and really liked it, but as I have one foot that's wider, it was too narrow.
Very happy with mine. They fit true to size and are insanely comfortable.
