Almost perfect solution for a day at the beach.
When I saw this set up in the store, I couldn’t resist. Why buy a beach umbrella when this cool setup is perfect. The only issue is that the anchor spikes are for soil and not sand. Still looking for some sand spikes.

Don’t waste your money. Absolute junk.
A gust of wind broke the first time I used it. I took it back to REI to which they responded “well it’s not supposed to be used when it’s windy in Flagstaff” and refused to allow me to return it. So why are they selling an item that cannot be used in the city where it’s sold? Makes no sense. I could have burnt a fifty dollar bill and been less frustrated.

Pretty Handy Beach Shade

We have this shade and another heavier type. This shade is lightweight and easy to carry to the beach. We have used it twice on the beach in Orange County. Able to withstand some wind. Did not move on us. At first I was not able to find the extension pole but it slides out. Easy to put up and take down. Handy bag with carrying strap.

I wanted to like it

Mechanism that holds umbrella up is very weak. Umbrella collapses in medium winds....

Built cheap

Only used a handful of times and several poles on the inside of the umbrella are bent and detached from the covering. The bag and carrying strap have also already ripped. All I've done is bring it to local soccer games, no mistreatment. Materials, stitching and attachments are weak.

Don't lose any of the components

It was fin until it wasn't. At some point we lost one of the extension poles that this umbrella needs. Contacted the manufacturer and they will not sell us the pole, or replace it, so now the thing is useless. Seems reasonable that you should be able to get parts you are missing, but nope. Not bothering to buy it again.

Great for shade on sports field, weeding yard

I bought this in 2022. I haven't used this at the beach, but I've used it for my intended purposes -- shade for my dog and me on grassy sports fields and shade for keeping me cool when I'm hunkered down weeding in my yard when it's very hot and sunny. I haven't tried the stakes. For weeding I added a few rocks to the pockets to keep it from moving in the wind. You can also open the window on the non-sunny side to reduce some of the wind drag. A pale exterior color (sky blue?) would be better than dark blue, as the dark blue absorbs heat and radiates it somewhat in the shade created, hurting my purpose. It's very easy to set up and take down, like a giant umbrella. Some reviewers faulted its construction -- seems fine to me, but I am careful with my equipment. I'm only 5'5", but there's enough room for me, a friend, and a big dog.

0 Stars , Poor Quality

Used only 2 times and looks like its been used for years. Price and quality does not much at all. Stay away of this product , you can find the same amount of shade for 1/2 of the money. Do not buy it . I will return it right now.

Handy shade

I’ve never used a beach umbrella before but I used this on a recent trip and was easy to use. I bought the mat too.

Major Upgrade

A solid, great addition to any beach day. The umbrella is sturdy and really user friendly. Everything is as shown and the additional mesh flaps help with extra shade and angling the umbrella accordingly as the day goes on. Highly recommend!
