What is it? An awning or privacy tent or both
Imagine an 8-10 person tent, now cut it in half and this is what you have. This is a half tent that tall enough to cover my Subaru Outback’ open hatch. It transforms the area behind my car into a complete shade and wind cover for cooking and eating. Of course, turning into a makeshift area for congregating when the weather turns. The half tent is well constructed with strong fiberglass poles. Took me 5 minutes to erect it the second time by myself and 10 minutes to pack it down. Double those times when I did it the first time. We car camping for a couple nights that happened to experience strong wind and chill weather in the 40s. This tent kept out the cold wind and doubled as a private area for us to change. This tent can be moved around the car where you want to extend your enjoyment area. The tent is well made for what it is, and packed down small enough to bring along when car camping. Since this tent is half opened, it is not bug proof. There is a mesh window with privacy screen on the door that I imagine needs to be closed when rain. We think this is better than having a fixed awning permanently mounted on the car roof.
