Meh Redesign
My family has multiple Osprey Porter 65 Duffels that are a few years old and a perfect design and size for a weekend getaway or a week long trip. I needed another and ordered, however, Since my last purchase they have redesigned the bag. The padded sides are taller which while offering slightly? more protection make the bag more of a hassle to get in and out of. The top which is actually a side when getting in the bag now extends noticeably further down allowing stuff to spill out when open. The bottom is its own compartment now which might be nice for dirty stuff or some teva's but overall reduces the interior compartment space. The Lid has some new organizational space which some might like but I found busy and not particularly useful. Sometimes I wish companies would ditch the idea they need to do redesign every few years because a lot of the time the new one is not nearly as good as the old design. Disappointed and returned.
High quality, good design
Very well made with solid zippers. It has a high quality feel, with excellent fit and finish. It has a lot of pockets to put items and to organize for a trip. I have used it for several trips, and it still looks new.
Great Travel Backpack/Duffel
I have nothing but great things to say Osprey Porter. This is my 3rd in the last 10 years. The first was handed down to my son, and the second to my wife. All 3 have seen extensive, often prolonged, travel domestically, and abroad. All in fine condition. I’ve packed dress suits, cold weather gear, presents for friends overseas. The Porter can do it all.
Excellent pack for roadtrips
This is my favorite bag to take on roadtrips. Plenty of room too pack a weeks worth of cloths and yet the pack does not feel bulky. Love the compression features on the bag. Normally I use the bags handle or a strap to carry the bag like a duffle, but if I have a long walk from the parking area to where I am staying, I tend to use the backpack straps. I have had the pack now for over 3 years and it is still holding up well. The quality of the materials and construction are excellent.
