[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This could be the bag to end all bags. I've been on a hunt for about 10 years to find a bag that fits my needs (mostly an EDC that also works as a travel bag) and I think this one does it. It has the right amount of organization for me, has the option to open from the top or lay flat, expandability is great when I need the volume, it's comfortable, and holds shape well. My one critique of this bag, as well as pretty much every Osprey bag I've owned, is that if I put a Nalgene (I know I know. I've tried Smart Water Bottles, and for me they just don't work) in the water bottle holder, it eats into the main storage of the bag. This bag is not as bad as other Osprey bags I've used (the day pack that comes with the Farpoint I think is the worst). If there could be just a few more inches or stretchiness or material to those mesh pockets, I'd be a happy camper. In this iteration, it looks like they cut the pen slots down from 3 to 2 so that more room could be more for a passport or something similar. I have appreciated that adjustment because although I do like my pens and pencils, I cannot see a need for 3 in that admin pocket. Now it's time to find a sling that will also hold my Nalgene, Bible, journal, and a few other odds and ends to compliment this one. The search continues!
We have a few of these in the family. They work well as a personal item on airlines. We have used ours on countless day trips within Europe this year. Having an expandable section is great and useful when leaving the UK wearing a puffer coat and needing to stow it once in Málaga. The organisation is great and having 2 bottle holders is a must. It’s also very comfortable to wear. Can highly recommend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just took this on a flight for 4 day trip as my only bag. Works as a carryon if you pack light. Probably the perfect (biggest) size you can get away with for a personal item. For fine under the seat in front of me. Really can’t say anything negative. Everything just worked. Good pockets, water bottle pockets good enough for small water bottles, outside front zip pocket works well for passports and quick access. I couldn’t quite figure out what to put in the inner mesh pocket opposite the deeper main area of the bag so I just didn’t use it. Anything with any bulk in that pocket would interfere with everything else. Get it if it’s in stock.
Perfect back for cheap European flights ‘personal’ luggage to fit under seat. Great for 5-7 day minimal packing trip.
I have used the older version of this backpack for travel. I agree that it is good, but it really needs a hip belt. If you utilize it fully especially expanded, it pulls on the shoulders uncomfortably. I like it enough that I sewed loops on the bottom so that I could put aftermarket hip belts on. Now it can hold what I need without hurting my shoulders. Osprey, take note.
Firstly I’ve bought countless Osprey items over the years, and this particular item is perfect, the zips dont snag the space is perfect and once expanded its little over wizz/easy/ryn etc but only a tiny bit and its unnoticeable. The quality of the material is as ever durable two drinks pockets loads of space inside lots of pockets its a perfect solution if your after a under seat bag that will last the cheap city breaks. Originally I purchased the American Tourister take2cabin, it was awful one drink pocket poor material and the zips get stuck under the seem, i sent it back and got this brilliant Osprey instead im so glad i did 🙂
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Excellent travel package for long weekend trip, and/or carry-on bag. Solidly put together and comfortable to wear. Would definitely recommend, I got an extra for my wife and she loves it too.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had seen a number of videos about how great the pack was for travel and EDC, so I decided to try it. I love the pack. The size is absolutely perfect for under an airplane seat. It feels just right on my back. I received this just before a business trip and so far the bag is doing great. Past bags I had were more compartmentalized, which I prefer. I knew going in that there was minimal compartmentalization. I now just use more pouches to organize everything and it works great. Past bags that I have used get "floppy" over time and fall all over themselves. This bag does not do that so far. I am happy with my purchase.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These packs truly function like a black hole. I’m able to use at as a personal item. If packed strategically with some detergent it can mitigate the need for any other luggage. The loops are great to tether the zippers to with tsa approved locks to prevent theft. I love the combination of the yellow and blue colors on the pack. You can be easily spotted in an emergency. This truly is THE backpack for every occasion. I’m taking it as my only piece of luggage traveling around Japan, and additionally trust its durability to backpack through India this spring. Perfect for an eat, pray, love type adventure.
