The best personal backpack for day trips

We have a few of these in the family. They work well as a personal item on airlines. We have used ours on countless day trips within Europe this year. Having an expandable section is great and useful when leaving the UK wearing a puffer coat and needing to stow it once in Málaga. The organisation is great and having 2 bottle holders is a must. It’s also very comfortable to wear. Can highly recommend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just took this on a flight for 4 day trip as my only bag. Works as a carryon if you pack light. Probably the perfect (biggest) size you can get away with for a personal item. For fine under the seat in front of me. Really can’t say anything negative. Everything just worked. Good pockets, water bottle pockets good enough for small water bottles, outside front zip pocket works well for passports and quick access. I couldn’t quite figure out what to put in the inner mesh pocket opposite the deeper main area of the bag so I just didn’t use it. Anything with any bulk in that pocket would interfere with everything else. Get it if it’s in stock.

Good value for good quality & design

Perfect back for cheap European flights ‘personal’ luggage to fit under seat. Great for 5-7 day minimal packing trip.

I had seen a number

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had seen a number of videos about how great the pack was for travel and EDC, so I decided to try it. I love the pack. The size is absolutely perfect for under an airplane seat. It feels just right on my back. I received this just before a business trip and so far the bag is doing great. Past bags I had were more compartmentalized, which I prefer. I knew going in that there was minimal compartmentalization. I now just use more pouches to organize everything and it works great. Past bags that I have used get "floppy" over time and fall all over themselves. This bag does not do that so far. I am happy with my purchase.

Perfect hybrid day pack and

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Perfect hybrid day pack and travel bag, personal item for 1.5-bag travel, or compact one bag for those traveling super light. Nondescript appearance, high quality materials, and a decent set of handy features all in a lightweight package. Great! Love the small changes from the old version like the zipper on the front and the slightly enlarged opening for the organizer pocket, as well as the expansion allowing for one big main section instead of two separate ones. Would have been nice for the laptop compartment to zip fully out but it's totally fine as is with a nice gap on the bottom so your laptop doesn't smack the ground. Luggage pass through is also in the right orientation - great!

I had used this 26+6

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had used this 26+6 backpack carry -on only traveled to Europe for 17 days and Japan for 13 days, Taiwan for 10 and 20 days. It has enough space for me to pack all the things I need to travel. I packed two compression bags with all my clothes, a pair of shoes and toiletries, a charging cable, a toothbrush and an electric toothbrush. I like this backpack because I can easily get on and off the train or bus from one city to another, from one country to another. This bag is not only light in weight, only 840 grams, but also has a good structure, which can hold all my things. I highly recommend it.

Small improvements please

Used twice for travel- one car, one plane. Bag is light, comfortable to carry (short distances), expandable size used and useful. Spacious for dimensions. However, the main compartment would be better opening top to bottom rather than suitcase size to easily access content in confined aircraft spaces. Similarly, the small stash pocket could be bigger to compensate, while the flat pocket on the outer cover is all but useless due to having no independent space. Finally, compression straps would be really useful, especially when in expanded mode.

This is my first Osprey

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first Osprey backpack, and I am very pleased with it. I used it on a two-day trip and really appreciated the luggage passthrough sleeve. The color is more of a charcoal grey than black, and I actually prefer it. It is well made and durable. The warranty on this product is great. It was in and out of stock many times, and I am so glad I was able to snag it. Great job, Osprey!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this bag. Just took a trip to the Canadian Grand Prix for 6 nights with this and a small sling bag. I was able to fit both under the seat on the flights there and back. Packed five pairs of shorts, six shirts, underwear, socks, a light pullover, and a pair of slip on shoes along with my toiletries. Kept my passport and a few small things in the sling bag. It was easy to carry through security and still looks great. I didn’t use compression cubes. I just packed it with the expansion open then zipped up the expansion after closing to compress everything. Worked great.
