Love my P9

Can't say enough good things about my P9. I was already an avid cyclist, but I know ride more often and further with this great little commuter/townie ebike. The fit, finish and thoughtfulness of the design of this bike brings me joy every time I look at it and use it. I've put 400 miles on it in the 2 months I've owned it. I have the Cache Box and the panniers from Tern as well as the Abus chain that integrates with the frame lock (and lives in the Cache Box) and highly recommend those as well. One thing that impresses me a lot is the great ride quality this bike possesses. Some may not expect that with the 20" wheels, but the low weight of the motor and battery and well-engineered geometry of the bike will surprise you. I've had it up to 35mph on downhills a few times and the bike is stable at those speeds, while being nimble feeling at low speed. Very happy camper to be jamming around on this thing on the daily.

not the best for hills
John

I love this bike in concept, but the 20 inch wheels are discomforting when going over bumps or booking downhill. Full disclosure: I've ridden mountain bikes and a Yuba Mundo for years, so I'm used to big-wheeled, heavy, stable bikes; ymmv. Additionally, while it easily reaches top speed on the flat, I wanted more power going up hill -- I wanted the P9 Performance, but it's hard to find and not at REI.

Replaced my car when I moved downtown

I bought this bike because I'm moving downtown and wanted to see if I could use it to replace my vehicle. To my surprise, yes. I can bike miles easily and easily haul things. There is a hill I have never successfully biked up and I did it the first time on this bike without having to walk it!!

Love this Bike!

This is my second Ebike. I love this bike. It comfortable, I can ride fo hours. Steep hills going up or down I always feel safe and stable going down the winding roads. Center of gravity is better on a 20” wheel. I’m an avid cyclist/road rider and this bike bring me joy. I wonky weigh about 110 so I can get 60 miles out of one charge. It rides so well rarely need more than Eco level and sometimes not even that. This color is only sold at REI and it’s the best color for this Bike. It’s very rich looking.

Love This Bike

This is a quality bike. Not like a bike made into an E-bike, but designed from the ground up to be an E-bike. I am 87 and have ridden a bike all my life. Now I can ride 9 to 10 miles a day up hill, in strong wind, anywhere I want to go. The service at REI is exceptional. It's cost is more, but you get your monies worth in the design, build and handling. I'm always stopped by others who want to know about it and where to purchase one. Great bike.

Absolutely love it

I recently bought a Turn HSD and really love it. I was looking for a cargo bike for around town errands that could carry some weight while traversing all the hills around me. The HSD does that easily. A few days back I easily carried 65+ lbs of stuff including 40 of cat litter. No problem. Hills and all, I didn’t notice the weight. I also really recommend the Tern 37 panniers. They are amazingly big. I probably could put two standard grocery bags in each. No regrets at all!

like a cadillac

This is my second e-bike and I bought it without a test ride. I was surprised that I liked it even more than my other bike with 26" wheels. I thought maybe the 20" wheels would slow me down a bit and I wouldn't want to use it on rides over 10-15 miles, but that's not the case at all. The ride is smooth and the size of the bike makes it more comfortable for riding around town and in traffic. This is a great bike and super comfortable to ride.

I love this bike

I'm a short woman in her 60s who hadn't ridden a bike in almost 40 years. This bike is very adjustable even for my short legs. I live on the SF Bay Area and could never get up to my house without the electric assistance this bike has. The bike is fun and exhilarating to ride. If I get a little tired I have 4 levels of assistance to help me keep on the move.

All pro, no cons

I had trouble finding a good ebike small enough to fit me. This bike was perfect. I even had room to add a Thudbuster suspension seatpost with half inch to spare. It gets me up even the steepest hill without having a heart attack. It is clean and classy in its appearance and love the color. I only wish I had gotten the S8 version with the carbon belt drive.

Must have!

We upgraded our non-electric cargo bike to this workhorse. We use it for dropping off the kid at preschool and getting to work. Even with a 40 lb kid on the back, it's easy to ride. The overall weight of the bike isn't as heavy as others, so we can get it up our stoop stairs and into the house easily. My only regret is not getting the bike sooner.
