My wife loves this bike.
My first bike order from REI and couldn't be more pleased. The bike was assembled and tested before going back in the shipping box and was shipped with necessary tools to put back together. Instructions were clear and assembly was a breeze. The ride was smooth and the gears shifted effortlessly and right out of the box. Our daughter's Hamax Caress child sit fit perfectly and was easy to install on this bike. My only complaint was one of the petals was missing the grip tape on one side of it. Other than that, everything was perfect, and I would buy from REI again.
Great bike for varied terrain and purposes
My bike purchased this bike several months ago as a lightweight option for gentle paths and dirt trails along the river near our house. She loves the bike which fits her well and has the ideal geometry for her riding style. The biggest problem with the bike is that due to the tire and rim selection it is impossible to change a flat at home or along the path. It took three technicians at REI to remove the tire and change the tube. I’m also a bit alarmed that the bike, which just showed up for purchase on the website, is no longer available through REI.
Great Compact Step thru
Bought this bike for my wife on a whim. This bike is so light, it is perfect for all riders. I put a universal cargo rack from blackburn on the back and now we are ready for fun. Great quality and fast delivery from REI.
Great Bike to Ride Around!
Looking for a bike to ride around the neighbor hood and cruise on the beach. The Treadwell 2 is that bike. REI assembled the bike very quickly and made sure everything runs smooth. The gear shift very smoothly and the bike rides great. If you want a bike that is lightweight and easy to ride around this is the bike.
Treadwell ok with me
Bought the Cannondale Treadwell mostly for rail trail riding but so far have taken it out for one road ride. Things I like are the weight (25lbs). Gear shifting is smooth and brakes are very responsive Things I don’t like are the handlebars seem unnecessarily wide by 2 or 3 inches (why??) and the pedals, although they are supposed to have a gripping surface on them, my feet slip when I stand on them to pedal. I am thinking about replacing them. Neutral factor is that there are only 9 gears. Makes for simpler riding. I wasn’t sure how I would feel about losing so many gear options compared to 21 but it seems you lose more in the higher gear performance than the lower gears, so that’s ok with me Overall I am happy with the purchase and I think it will be fine for my kind of riding
