LOVE
I love the joyride! A lot of room in cockpit, comfy seat, tracks well.
Good first kayak
I bought this as my first kayak. My husband has the Old Towne VaporXT. When I saw this one I thought, perfect for my first kayak and before we went camping. I got to use it first time on swift moving creek which was a blast. I loved it!!!! I love the hatch system, the seat, and the cup holder. I hate that they didn’t take an extra few minutes and left the drain plug out of the design. I’ll add one on my own. Compared to the Old Towne the perception is much heavier. My husband floated the same in my Perception and said he felt the Old Towne has a little more stability but still a great kayak!
Good kayak for the money
I've paddled this kayak on average once a week since early summer. Primarily on the river in SE PA and a Pocono lake. It tracks OK, lots of cockpit space (Seals skirt size 6.0), seat is very comfortable and has many adjustments, and the rear hatch has been bone dry. Carrying handles are robust. My two complaints: 1) the seat is mounted on top of an angled mold. It's not terrible, but there are times where I'd like my thighs to be flat with the boat and because of the angle you're always seated slightly inclined. Not a dealbreaker but a slight annoyance. 2) the foot pegs should use the same system as Dagger or Wilderness. Confluence Outdoors should swap these out for the system that can be adjusted without having to basically enter the kayak with your head between your knees. Otherwise, build quality is very good. A nice step up from the big box store boats.
Pretty good first time yak!
I bought this and used it a few times. The seat is comfortable, it tracks nicely, and there is a decent amount of dry storage. I am 5'10 and the cockpit has ample space. My negative is the fact that there is no easy way to drain the water out. When you flip the kayak over, there is a lip around the cockpit which does not allow the water to come out. It is easy to sponge and wipe dry, just an inconvenience.
Great kayak
Great kayak. Very stable and comfortable. It’s a little heavy at 50 lbs.
Nice kayak
I love the kayak but am quite a bit disappointed that I spent 600 bucks on a kayak and they didn’t put in a drain plug. That is such a basic option and even the cheapest of kayaks have them.
Love my new kayak!
I purchased this kayak a week ago and took it out on a river to have a relaxing paddle. It was so much fun and the kayak is so dependable and sturdy! Absolutely recommend!!
Perfect beginning kayak
I recently purchased the orange Joyride for my entry level kayak and so far am loving it. Lots of storage, the bungees are helpful to hold various things, and it’s lightweight and easy to use.
